  1. You & your 2 best girlfriends don't go to the wine tasting party on a Friday night because you all had a bad week & "It sounds like too much effort to pretend to care." So instead you all stay in & watch Comedy Central Presents & Anderson Cooper and *snark* about stuff all evening. Yeah, that was 2 weeks ago.
  2. Library, shopping, crafting, yoga, cooking/baking, uploading my pictures ... Though all too often I just end up watching SportsCenter. A lot of craft things just require a quick trip to a store & about $20. You can learn how to start a lot of things online (hooray YouTube!) or buy a book/borrow from the library.
  3. Hope you had a wonderful birthday! (I don't know what the time difference is, but I'm pretty sure the day has technically passed there.) Blessings! =)

  4. You could try YSci. (Pronounced Why-Sigh.) EDM, there is a name/nickname over here that is pronounced EE-Dee & spelled Eadie, Edee, or Edie, usually short for Edith. But if I were to think of a not-quite random nickname for you that had nothing to do with your user ID, I'd go with Giggles.
  5. will be away for a little while :( and seriously hoping to be back very soon!

If only there was a 'like' button here....ah, well....

      like! :D

  7. Believe me, if you stick around people will start to abbreviate yours to DM, DM92, DarkM, or something similar.
  8. Quote for now: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." Jimi Hendrix

  9. Solely for your culinary edification - Canned pie filling does indeed have a thick, gelled liquid. Most any berry pie/cherry pie will involve red hues, and when hot out of the oven the liquidy filling will ooze out when cut into. Once it cools & gels, it firms up nicely. The ice cream was simply a necessity to go with hot pie - otherwise you'll burn your mouth & taste buds, & that is no fun! (I don't want the holidays to be over! Need.more.pie.!) /offtopic
  10. A very Happy Birthday to you! (& a happy new year too!) =)

  11. is starting the New Year with some lousy Big Ten football. =( Grr!

TCU played well, but Wisconsin was lousy that day. If they hadn't had an off day, the Badgers would've won, but that's why they play the game ...

This is a well-known "Minute Mystery". It may or may not have been posted before (I didn't do a search to look, did you?), but use caution when re-posting things that are not your own as the moderators may delete or lock the thread if that happens.
  13. New Year's, Easter, (U.S.) Memorial Day & Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas. Also sometimes Cinco de Mayo & Mexican Independence Day, & Chinese/Lunar New Year & Moon Festival with friends. If someone I know invites me to a good PG-rated Solstice Celebration I'll do that too on occasion. Major ones for my family & friends are Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year. Thanksgiving is lots of food, football, movies, & games - all weekend long. Christmas is presents for the kids, food (Mmm, home-raised beef & corn!), and together time. My mother grew up in Pennsylvania, so New Year's lunch is Pennsylvania Dutch - pork & cabbage! - and all the bowl games we can watch.
