  5. My family's farm was a few miles outside a small town in Indiana. The Schwan's man came every couple weeks (ice cream!!), & Jerry liked riddles. A few times a year, he'd tell us kids a riddle. I'm sure there were many easy ones that I don't remember, but when I was around 13 he asked one that was a little more obscure. I've remembered it ever since. That's when I really caught the riddle bug. I'll never be very good at riddling, but it'll always be fun. A Bible character, without a name, Upon whom sudden destruction came. Who died a death never died before, & whose shroud can be found in a grocery store.
  6. Everyone started riddling/logic-ing somehow. What was it for you? Did your mom give you brain teasers to figure out? Obsess over word problems in math class? Get one of those riddle books for your birthday? Find one of the BD Google Gadgets? Do you remember the riddle? If so, please do a search for it & post the link to the BD topic, OR if it's not on the Den, post it AND the solution (use a spoiler!!) in your reply.
  7. Facebook is fun & handy for keeping up with people (& avoiding work). I'm too lazy/forgetful to blog or write regular emails/letters, but I do a 'status update' every day or so & let the friends & fam know what's going on in life. Also great for keeping up with pics of the nieces & nephews who are a few thousand miles away.
  8. (Me thinks I've been staring at this too long. )
  9. Quote for now: Our faith should be our steering wheel, not our spare tire. --C. L. Wheeler

  10. Like fabio, I keep trying or something similar. (But I just can't *quite* agree with the synonymity, culinarily speaking.)

FYI, these have all been posted before. Please read the Important: READ BEFORE POSTING! (at the top of any topic page) & do a search to see if something has been posted previously. Obviously not an issue with riddles you write yourself, but something you get from another source has likely already been posted. But welcome to the Den!
  12. Wow, guess I can see how you'd come up with that, but no, nothing to do with bats or belfries. May be time to try a re-write, hmm? 4. Swindle without a break lays eggs X Lady's (lady) mount = Famous Harry's ride
  13. The ribbet ribbet of congregating tree frogs ... It's that time of year again in the neighbors' koi pond.

Aw, thanks. & Welcome to the Den, btw. (Hey, where'd Perry go?)
  16. That is indeed the completely correct answer. (Though I would have accepted it without the royal association. )
