0 Izzy
It kind of makes me think of Spoiler cake/bakers. I just love cake though.
0 Molly Mae
It makes me think of teeth, especially braces. While the standard set of teeth would have 16 on top and 16 on bottom, maybe braces don't connect to the last tooth. I don't know that much about them. 0 plasmid
Now Izzy is making me hungry. The cake is a lie, unfortunately, or at least not the answer to this one. Teeth and braces seems along the right track, but there are a lot of tiny clues scattered around that make something else a clearly better fit. 0 plasmid
In some ways I could see slate fitting, especially with clues about being woven tight and oddly even if multiple different sizes are patchworked together. I’m not sure if it comes in pink and white, but I can’t think of halos for them and there’s a reason for the number fourteen (although I admit it’s not the first number that someone would think of with the thing I have in mind.) 0 plainglazed
dang, like that answer MM - nice Spoiler had been toying with the idea of a gold wedding band but couldn't make the jump to your answer and make it all fit.
0 plasmid
Molly's answer isn't what I had in mind. Combining it with plainglazed's comment does make it make more sense to me (although not for all of the clues, particularly the second doublet), and is getting warmer. 0 flamebirde
Spoiler it burns itself (or so I gather from "taken up from flame we stoke") serendipity: i.e. luck, good fortune. Honestly I'm kinda with Molly's guess. Carbon seems like a fair fit. The only issue I can see are the pink and white roses.
0 plasmid
Wow, that sure would give new meaning to the last couplet, with oxygen as the halo! Not what I have in mind, though; too many other clues would go without an explanation that I could see.

0 rocdocmac
Molly said: "Glass/Silicon (which is in the Carbon group!)" Spoiler Silicon ("silicium") is element #14 and glass is silicon dioxide (quartz or sand). But do we need an occupation here? Glassblower? Doesn't fit the description too well! And a lipidary/lipidist/lipidarist is already out, too. Edited January 30, 2018 by rocdocmac some additonal words added
0 plasmid
Not silicon or glass, or anywhere along the elemental route. I had to do some research to see how well it would fit the clues, which obviously means it wasn’t what I had in mind. The fourteen makes sense with the atomic number, and I could see how silicon circuitry could invoke concepts of binary to explain the thing about adulating or dispensing slight. But there’s a particular reason why I chose pink and white as the colors of the “roses” that get cultivated, and I don’t think the part about serendipity when woven tight would apply to circuitry because determinism rather than luck is generally associated with electronics (at least in most people's minds to serve as a clue in a riddle). 0 plasmid
After reading up on it a bit, at least some of the clues could be explained with that answer, but I've got to say that it would require far more specialized knowledge than I would put in a riddle meant for the general public. 0 plasmid
Nah, no sports in particular or celebrities in general are involved in this riddle. This is something that everyone in the world will know about, although some of the clues refer to western cultural things that aren't quite completely universal. 0 plasmid
I had to read up on that one a little bit. It certainly has the blossom like a rose and could go up in flames, but not what I'm going for with this one. Still looking for something something oddly even that adulates or slights, and a weaving invoking serendipity.
