Molly Mae 103
Whoa..... I didn't think my entry would get any rep points..... mainly because people should probably have no idea what I was talking about..... I have that effect... fabpig 143
I let it run a bit longer as it seemed a bit slow-moving. Obviously a bad startphrase - sorry everybody. Over to you EDM!
EDM 101
Bad start phrase? gosh, i feel so insignificant...... It was a lot better than I expected....
fabpig 143
Bad start phrase? gosh, i feel so insignificant...... It was a lot better than I expected.... Of course, as you were the first go, everybody realised that they couldn't beat your reply. Bearing that in mind, you could say about the response that It was a lot better than I expected. Molly Mae 103
Oh, well......I did get my turn, though.... And the Oilers did a lot better than I expected.
tiger_lily111 116
After trying the nice, try-to-keep-cabinets-intact way, we got out the mallets and started real demo on the wall & ceiling cabinets. End result: The drywall won't require major repairs, no fires, no major injuries (nails to the shoulder don't count, right?), only one minor case of electrocution (turns out the vent hood wasn't on the same circuit), and a few splinters and split skin instances. My only real thought when it was done? It was a lot better than I expected ... Now what's going to go wrong on the rest of the remodel - because I live by Murphy's Law. Thumbed this one up. =P Been doing a lot of remodeling recently.
EDM 101
giving this another day due to strange lack of interest caused by my start phrase..... Edited September 8, 2011 by EDM
MissKitten 70
Actually, I think people have lost all interest in One-Up Me. To tell the truth, the few responses we've been getting are a lot better than I expected.
plainglazed 67
It was a lot better than I expected but still I have that effect on the environment. (catching up)
Guest
I tried soilent green yesterday... it was a lot better than I expected.
Guest
Hmmm, based on Charlton Heston's recommendation, Soilent Green was just as good as expected.
EDM 101
Ok, I'm a bit busy the next 3 days so I'll make this quick... TL, you're up next!!! (sorry, PG....you were soooooo close.... - but I live by Murphy's law, too....)
tiger_lily111 116
Thanks for the "encouragement" folks! (Free labor has arrived in the form of my FIL, hurray!) Next start phrase is - ... I remember ...
MissKitten 70
*guilty of tweaking the startphrase to fit my purposes* We remember the tragedy that was 9/11. Please join me in a moment of silence to honor those who died on that horrible day. And just for the record, I'm not trying to be funny, and I don't expect any rep points for this. Guest
My thoughts - and the thoughts of the British people I've spoken to - are with you and for you. That'd mean a whole lot more fab, if I didn't happen to know that the only British people you talk to live in your head.

plainglazed 67
if I remember correctly, this game is still ongoing.
MissKitten 70
Yeah, it is. @whoever gave the startphrase: As far as I can tell, I'm winning in terms of rep points right now. However, I do not want to be the "winner" of this round as I was not actually trying for the points. So whoever is in second place, congrats!
Molly Mae 103
I totally didn't submit one, but this will keep the game going: "Plainglazed was like a ninja...."
