  1. Since you are near the river one more trick may be introduced: Fill the 3 liter container full. Empty it in 5 liter container. Now fill enough sand in the 5 liter container so that water level rises to the top. Now this sand may be filled in the 3 liter container. Now fill the 3 liter container with water. This 1 liter water may be poured in the 5 liter container already having 3 liter water.

  4. It is not fair to punish anybody without listening his part of story....! See that John and peter did not demand $8 for the juice, it was Paul who voluntarily paid this much amount and went away. May be he never drank such a nice juice, or may be it saved his life or may be for him there was no value of Dollar............OR may be he had robbed bank.....?
  5. All three reached the school on the same time. But in the puzzle their starting point is not given. So the starting point of each individual may be different, and therefore distance covered by each individual may also be different. The distance covered by an individual will depend on the speed by which he traveled, and since Harry's mom drove him with the highest speed so the distance traveled by him is the longest one, among the three individuals. But in terms of time journey of all the three was same i.e. 45Minutes.

  7. Let us consider only two cars A & B on the track. Then faster car A can pass the slower car B only when both cars meet at the intersection point (say X) that too when both are moving in the same direction. so when B completes one circle (note one circle is half of 8) to reach X, A has to complete three circles to reach X and to be moving in the same direction as of B. Now let us add one more car C, on the track. To reach the X, to pass A & B, and to be moving in the same direction as of A & B, C also has to complete three circles, otherwise it will collide with other cars or will have to overtake them between the tracks. So I think this is not possible to have more than two cars on the track which pass each other only at X.

By the glances of young woman towards her grandmother, young soldier became aware, that young woman did not want to disclose her interest in him before her grandmother. So the young soldier kissed the young woman and then slapped his officer to make her grand mother think that the young woman was not interested in him.
  10. Death is the end of life and it is also said, 'Death is the beginning of new life.' In my view it is very difficult to differentiate between the end of an event and the beginning of a new event. There can not be a gap or vacuum.

Balls are infinite, but near noon there would be 10 balls numbering "{infinity-9} to infinity" which my friend will put in my box and I will throw out ball number "infinity" out of my box. So there would still be some balls in my box.....? Can anybody explain it more clearly.
  13. Two years before they celebrated 25th marriage anniversary. If they got their son before their first marriage anniversary, then their son may be running in 27th year now. But no doubt their Son could be of any age: 15year, 18year, 21year or 27year. [1] Let the six persons be A, B, C, D, E, & F; and their age be 15Yr, 18Yr, 21Yr, 24Yr, 27Yr, and 30Yr respectively. [2] Now since Fish eaters have Age difference of 12year, so they may be B & F or A & E. Let us assume for the first instance --B & F are the fish eaters. [3] Age difference between wearer of yellow shirts is 15Year, so they are A & F. [4] Football players will soon retire, so they are E & F. [5] Now chess players have 9 year difference, so they can only be A & D. [6] Above concludes B & C play Table Tennis. [7] Now potatoes eaters play different plays other than Chess, so A & D do not eat potatoes, and we assumed for the first instance that B & F eat Fish, therefore C & E eat Potatoes; and also that A & D eat meat. [8] Now meat eaters A & D drink Different drinks but not water-- i.e. if A drinks Fanta then D drinks cola and if A drinks Cola, then D drinks Fanta. [9] Water drinkers wear different colors other than Red i.e. Yellow and Green. So one of A & F is a water drinker, but from [8], A can’t be water drinker, therefore F is a water drinker. Now Fanta drinkers wear the same shirt color other than green, i.e. either both wear Red or both wear Yellow. A & F, both wear yellow, but F is a water drinker, so they can’t be Fanta drinkers, therefore Fanta drinkers wear Red shirts. Hence from [8], D drinks Fanta, and wears Red color, and A drinks Cola. [10] Water drinkers wear different color other than Red, and F is a water drinker who wears yellow so other water drinker wears Green color. [11] Now Cola drinkers have nothing else similar. A is a Cola drinker and other Cola drinker could be any one of B, C & E. [12] Since couple celebrated 25th marriage anniversary two years ago so their Son could be any one of A, B, C, D & E. But A is a Cola drinker, and D is a Fanta drinker, while their Son is a Water drinker. So their Son is either one of B, C & E. [13] Now the deadlock is reached, because there could be any one a water drinker. Therefore we may safely assume that their Son is E of 27 years today, a water drinker. Then from [10] he wears Green shirt. WE NOW HAVE: A - 15year - plays Chess - wears Yellow - eats Meat - drinks Cola. B - 18Year - plays Table Tennis - wears Green - eats Fish - drinks Cola. C - 21Year - plays Table Tennis - wears Red - eats Potatoes - drinks Fanta. D - 24 year- plays Chess - wear Red - eats Meat - drinks Fanta. E - 27Year - plays Football – wears Green - eats Potatoes - drinks Water. F - 30year - plays Football - wear yellow - eats Fish - drinks Water. What would happen if we assumed that A & E are fish eaters........? There could be many combinations, for example one might be the following: A – 15YR – CHESS – YELLOW – FISH – COLA B – 18YR – T T – RED – POTATOES – FANTA C – 21YR – T T – RED – MEAT – FANTA D – 24YR – CHESS – GREEN – MEAT – COLA E – 27YR – FOOTBALL – GREEN – FISH – WATER F – 30YR – FOOTBALL – YELLOW – POTATOES - WATER

  15. Five genius friends were enjoying picnic on the occasion of New year’s day. They played a very interesting game, which employed logical thinking. One of the friends, Ajit wrote following words, on a sheet of paper: BEND, SOON, SEND, BOND, SINE, BIDS, NINE, NOSE, BINS, SEEN, NONE, DONE, DINE, NOON. Then, Ajit selected a secret word from the above list and secretly distributed all four letters of this word, to the other four friends, writing one letter each on the four different pieces of paper. [1] After this Ajit told them, "None of you can tell how many vowels the word selected by me has." All the other four friends agreed him. [2] Then after a brief pause, on second instance, again Ajit said, "Still no body of you can tell how many vowels the secret word has." Again all the other four friends agreed him. [3] Again after a brief pause, third time, Ajit told them, "Still none of you know how many vowels the secret word has." And then, Rohit, one of the four friends, came out to say, "I know what the secret word is..!!" So, Friends, You are required to tell What was the SECRETE WORD and how Rohit came to know the word?

I hope you will tolerate me in this forum and ........one more thing .... I don't know how to make friends.... but certainly I wish to be a good friend. May I post a Logical Puzzle here.....! Please answer if you like it. Here is the puzzle: Five genius friends were enjoying picnic on the occasion of New year’s day. They played a very interesting game, which employed logical thinking. 17. The detective played the tape recorder and heard some murmuring sounds, the statement and then the sound of gun shot, followed by silence. But the body was found lying on floor. The person could have not committed suicide lying on floor and the recorder might have recorded the sound of body when it fell on the floor. Absence of this sound on the tape itself indicates not only that the recording was done by the murderer, but also that the recording was done only up to the firing of gun shot, then the tape was stopped..... obviously a dead person can not press stop button and even if he was alive to get a chance to stop the tape before falling, then question arises why a dying person will bother to press stop button of tape recorder....???? So this was clear murder.

If the weight of each coin is 10 gm. then the total weight of coins taken --- one coin from A, two coins from B, three coins from C,.... and ten coins from J, will be 10+20+30+......100 = 550 gm. When weighed on the electronic scale, the weight will be less by the (number of coins) gm' taken from the servant holding the coins with less weight, as rightly said by bobb624.
