Well said....! Another unique sets of speeds is D=56, U=42, L=48. In this case (If time of travell remains same); Two equations will be: 6D+7L+8U=6*7*8*4 8D+7L+6U=6*7*8*5 Adding both equations we get: 14(D+L+U)= 6*7*8*9 Therefore D+L+U=216

Before retiring to bed after dinner, Ajit was as usual relaxing in the balcony of his flat at 2nd floor. His attention was suddenly drawn towards a person walking down in the street. Now our task is to find out what was the actual time of Gun - Shot, with the explanation how to arrive at the answer.

OP says farmer presently has 17 cows, after 'all but 9 cows die'. So answer to the question 'how many did he have left' is 17+9=26 cows, before 9 cows die. Otherwise OP would be like this "A farmer had 17 cows, all but 9 die. How many is he left with?"

One typist types one page in two minutes. His typing speed decreases in successive time and thus he will not be able to type 9 pages in 18 minutes.
