  1. It's nice to see so many of the members back already. Time Out gets this one, a nice way to make an entrance to BrainDen!
  2. Not a ship, although I can see how it might be interpreted as a description of the shipbuilding process as material is taken from a warehouse to a drydock and assembled on site before launching the ship. I've got something else in mind.
  3. By tunnel flee from crushing walls Escaping, reshaped by the flight Then unrefreshed by tortured pause On needles recumbent tonight Find palace decked with deadly blades And anvils surrounding the court The ocean churns, its flow cascades Withdrawing thereafter from port
  4. Nice to see that I'm not the first to confirm that it's solved.
  5. Ever so close. Were I to point out all the clues, I think it would become obvious. Maybe I will if it doesn't get solved in another day or two.
  6. All that Witch of Doubt says is correct. But there's something specific I have in mind and have left some clues for, which I think fits significantly more soundly than eggs, bacon, and OJ.
  7. I think curr3nt and dD are essentially right, they're just omitting a bit of a fudge factor in the article -- it mentions bonds at the beginning of the year selling for "a little over 3 percent" and at the end of the year "just under 2 percent", and they may very well be rounding the return up to 16% from an actual value just over 15.5%. And all of that makes much more sense than the real estate market around here.
  8. One of those answers is definitely on the right track.

Make no mistake about it, 'Cat'astrophe is up next.
  10. A nation preps its children for fight In duos, formation assume With sundered shields, dispersing in fright Thus routed, they head to their doom Another state sends troops by the score Platoons on their way to the field Forsake their spirits, fighting this war Near naked, no chance but to yield With fight commenced, both armies are crushed A sword marks the end of their routes Third holy might, to meet them they've rushed Embracing the fallen recruits
  11. I suspect that Molly Mae simply recognized that Thalia found out that the Witch and the Sapphire Witch might not be the same in post 118, based on the boy's comments. Molly used that in a blue statement to challenge the Witch because the question was dodged in the reply on post 119. I have other questions in mind that I don't think are yet meant to be answered. But one that does face us now is, whatever became of the sound of a sliding tile that was heard when the button to reveal the Witch's Epigraph was pressed?

I'm not sure if I'll have as much free time as I'd really like to play a mafia, but better to go one or two cycles without completely thinking through everything than to let a game languish in signups.

You can tell that your teacher is lecturing when time drags. You can tell you're looking at the person of your dreams when time stands still. You can tell that everyone's having a ball when time flies. You can tell Chuck Norris just walked into the room when time runs.
  15. I also don't know the answer, but had some other interpretations of the clues in mind
  16. Once again, I find myself about third in line in confirming that one of my riddles has been solved. The middle stanza I thought might have been the toughest
  17. Molly's has been the closest guess yet. I'll just say that it might help to think of this riddle as describing at times parts of a larger whole.
  18. Not a shutterbug. I suppose that you could somehow force a cameraman into some sort of situation to fit any of those clues. But I feel the answer I have in mind would be more satisfying and give the reader a sense of why those particular clues were appropriate.
  19. I admit to use of google to discover that this phrase actually means something, since we only have a tad before it's marked as solved
  20. but I don't recall if he was ever replaced with a sun
  21. Not sparks or lightning, it leaves some clues unanswered as you've noted. Neither snakes nor termites. Unless they create a blinding light and deafening blast because they are exploding snakes and termites.
