1.
batman

...Gotham City. ;P

Each thing refers specifically to a particular supervillain:

Jokes and riddles, joker and the riddler

Fire and Ice, firefly and Mr. Freeze

Cats and birds, catwoman and the penguin

Toys and dolls, toymaker and baby doll or rag doll or ventriloquist/scarface (pick your favorite ;P)

A man who has mud on his face, clayface

and another who has more than one. two-face

A man who can't die, raj a guul (I probably spelled that wrong...)

and one who is undead. solomon grundy

A redhead who goes green, poison ivy

and a greenhead who sees red? killer croc (his head *is* green...;P)

This is actually...

...The Dark Knight, which is coming out on Friday! Now if only I had someone to go see it with... ;P

2. edit:

i can find them all in your riddle =)

in a deck of magic cards or in comic books

Lol. I don't play Magic, but I have friends who did...one in particular had boxes and boxes of cards, so I'm not surprised that you can find pretty much anything in them...

...but this is something specific...

3. Where can you find:

Jokes and riddles,

Fire and Ice,

Cats and birds,

Toys and dolls,

A man who has mud on his face,

and another who has more than one.

A man who can't die,

and one who is undead.

A redhead who goes green,

and a greenhead who sees red?

...lets go out on Friday! ;P

4. ...a period? I noticed that there are no periods in the riddle, and the last line goes "stop this awful bore"...I figure putting a period there would make the sentence (which without it is a monstrously long run-on...) stop? "Two or more" could refer to a colon and ellipses...

;)
5. Hmmm....still no takers, huh...

Well, here's part of the explanation for 1

Objects can reflect/absorb some of the light that reaches it. The color that is shown (that we see) is the color reflected. Things that appear white reflect all the light, and things that appear black reflect no light.

6. 2001 has a monkey is most likely referring to 2001: A Space Odyssey (there are monkeys in the film), though I do like "a 12 year cycle" and monkeys referring to Twelve Monkeys, but unfortunately it was released in 1995, which was the year of the dog.

Correct! Excellent work, everyone! :D

7. A cup? You can serve a cup of something, or someone can pour a cup. A cup is a measurement of liquid. Not sure how it's attractive. But it recieves and you can put things in it. Not sure how it would be a pass, but you can cup someones ears, or you can make someones bone cup by crushing it or you can make your hand into a cup. You run for the cup when you're in a race. You talk about cups, like the world cup, etc. You can use a cup to put things in and share it by passing it around, you can cup your hand to cause pain, you can present things in a cup. How's that? It seems to fit best.

I agree. Also

"Not quite your thing" - not your cup of tea

8. Wow, dusky, you were on a roll...but Planet of the Apes was not the monkeys I was referring to...

I was indeed referring to 1984 (rat year) and Animal Farm, two separate novels written by Orwell.

The Berlin Wall (Humpty Dumpty's seat) fell in 1989, signaling the beginning of the reunification of Germany.

And "the next snake" does indeed refer to 2001. There is a 12 year cycle for the Chinese Zodiac, so the "next" year of a particular animal is the next cycle, i.e. 12 years later.

Just half a line to go...:)

9. 1. Why did the cannibal invite the supermodel to dinner?

He was on a diet.

2. Why did the cannibal join the software programmer and the mathematician for a Fourth of July Picnic?

Because there's nothing as American as Apple pi.

3. Afterwards, why did the cannibal have dessert with the statistician?

He liked his pi a la mode.

4. Why did the cannibal give his girlfriend a bath?

He liked his chick in soup.

5. Why did the cannibal take the Playmate (Playboy bunny) to the UK?

He wanted some Welsh Rabbit.

6. Why did the cannibal have lunch with the new Shakespearian actress?

He wanted a raw-Viola

Hehe...yes, I have a dark side...sorry if I'm not quite to your taste ;P.

10. OK I think we are ready for the answer now. :D

Okay fine, I'll give you this, and it should be obvious...

[spoiler='Explanation for 4

']Time has no inherent units...humans use this to translate time into units they can understand and keep track of...but it can't keep track of the date, so it requires someone/something else to do it ("You keep the date").

And not quite ready to reveal 1 yet, but I'll tell you this:

Like mentioned previously, it's an analogy, so don't try to think of things that relate color and black and white, but instead, think about the relationship between "colors shown in light" and black and white...

11. *Sigh* don't give up on me! Here's another hint...

grey cells was on the right track earlier, but the Great Wall didn't fall...that wouldn't have been so great. But *this* was great!

;)

If you guys still can't get it I'm going to have to write an angry letter to the Secretary of Education letting him/her know how badly World History is taught...;P

12. I didn't realize the 50 and 1 are same color as the background. That's why I answer up to a(10) only, I agreed with redsnuff that a(11) should be 121 and a(12) will back to 36 again and so on. If a(11) is the one we are going to answer, then we haven't find the complete answer as we should also find out what's the color it is.

And there's a reason those numbers not visible...

;)

Yes, and part of the puzzle is figuring out what color the next numbers should be...;P

13. 1
4
9
8
25
18
49
16
27
50
[/codebox]

Can you see what comes next?
Yes, the colors do matter in this case.

a(n)
14. I know but still, I'm was so excited when I saw my name on that list! I'm one of those kids that are always happy for no apparent reason! :D:lol:

Haha...well, I guess I should feel sad then...I'm the only one they didn't get until the second page...as an afterthought...T_T...just kidding ;P.

Cool idea though, lemonymelon! You go, girl! ;)

15. I must admit it is a imitation.

You are not upset due to this. And by the way...Yes, it should have a space in the second. That's why one of my previouse hints sounds "Oops, I remember I do put some space and where are they?" :D "

I am quite flattered

:). Hence the quote...

And you added your own spin, which was pretty cool...I hope they get it soon ;)

16. :D Well, you know what they say: "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".

Your clues are quite enigmatic.

;)

Oh, and shouldn't there be a space in the second number?
