TOAST is zero, so not TO from TOLLS, leaving 1 in LLS HOLES and POLES both 1, retained when changed first letter, so one in OLES, but TOAST removes second O, so 1 in LES so we have: 1 in **LLS 1 in **LES if it was third spot L, okay. fifth spot S, okay. But they can't both be that fourth letter. Meaning we know there's 1 in: **L*S testing with POLAR. POLAR is equivalent to a shift from POLES to POLER, because the A is in TOAST and is 0. so if POLAR is 1, changing last S to R did nothing, and the third letter is L if POLAR is 0, changing last S to R dropped the point, hence last letter is S ~~ POLAR got 1 so third letter is L **L**

the point is to find a cheap way to do it. Hence, not xanax and lethal injections. Lethal injection isn't just one shot - it's all kinds of complicated things. Like four shots.

that's wrong. I was surprised to learn this too but via the current method of lethal injection, an execution costs more (i think much more) than keeping them for life. All of the trials, public lawyers, make-sure procedures and chemicals and whatnot all cost money. If you do accept the death penalty then the actual execution needs to do more humanely (it may sound weird but a quick bullet to the head is way less build up, way less pain, and way less taxpayer money. Or another possibly more humane system that's still cheap)

what do you mean? When we've been saying 9!!!!!!!!!!, we mean 9! then THAT factorialized, then that, etc, etc, etc. From this base: 9!! = (9!)! I understand one could make up other uses of "!!", like skipping every other number or whatnot. But I think everyone on the thread assumed that 3!!! would be: ((3!)!)! aka the factorial of 720, whatever that is
