Cabuul swallowed a bomb intentionally. To see why you'd have to decode his speech with the codes given
-
The path of the counterweight was pretty interesting. Ziggy Izzy used it to steal a citizens arrest kit from Bob who was dealing those. Then Bob used it (again not sure what MissKitten was really thinking for most of the game ) to steal from his mob boss Don Marlon Gmaster and got the Don's revolver which had 4 shots with 2 empties. The revolver was never actually fired I believe though the Don towards the end of the game had hired Bob to make another murder. That either fell through or didn't happen fast enough, but anyway, Gmaster tried to use the pickpocket on Izzy but she had nothing since she had already used the kit, hence it failed, so then Gmaster pickpocketed Framm (Mmarf) and got the Binoculars yeah. Almost from the very beginning MK was trying to implicate and hint about Ralph being a baddie. Otherwise he was gliding along pretty well managing to do his enforcer duties while also staying off the suspicion radar - if it wasn't for his own employer ratting him out of course Frost and I didn't want to affect the game's affairs so we tried not to say anything outright although we emphasized multiple times (publically in the thread and privately to Bob) that getting arrested means that you lose, and that Bob was indeed a criminal, being the middle man for the murder operation. Still though, Bob persisted in dropping hints about Ralph which eventually brought the whole thing crashing down around the heads of the 3 mobsters They weren't the only criminals to fail at their mission, however. The cultists - Disciple and Businessman - were meant to meet up to compare their two halves of their secret mission (if you want to know what it is, apply their codes to the speech I worked hard on that thing) so they could carry it out using the items present in the game. And despite BlahBlah (Disciple)'s fervent activity of trying to make contact with the other cultist, yuiop's inactivity made it hard for them to meet up. It was really Frost and I's fault - we should have replaced yuiop
-
The main idea was that Cabuul was the spokesperson for a resurgence clan of Zamoan cultists, spreading the word and also coded messages for his cultist followers (in this crowd they were the Businessman and the Disciple). Also we had some things with items going - for example, anything used or whatever on one of the twins had a 50% chance of being actually used on the other twin. Here is the basic framework of the roles, although when we PMed them to people we fleshed them out a bit more, removing the +/* format and kind of explaining it better. So these are just the frames of what the roles are, with different levels of information, deception and items Key: + Information * Item Businessman + secretly Zamoan cultist to get first half of Cabuul's coded speech [Every 17th word] + must find other Zamoan cultist to combine coded message + here to meet with Chancellor to bribe with jewel to get building contract for the new Chancellor Building * JEWEL Disciple + secretly Zamoan cultist to get second half of Cabuul's coded speech [Every 11th word] + must find other Zamoan cultist to combine coded message + hates the Hanshin priestess + over the past few days with Cabuul in and around town you have seen Pregnant Lady really flirting with him and/or trying to talk to him about something Chancellor + there to meet with Businessman to give away the contract to build the new Chancellor Building in return for a jewel + addicted to psyflora but going through withdrawals. Needs the jewel to buy more drugs from Dealer + in a deep relationship with the Hanshin priestess. She's breaking her vows in order to be with her one love (you). But you feel guilty because sometimes your drug addiction comes first * BUILDING CONTRACT RIGHTS Hot Dog Vendor Dude + tal'vrak black market item peddler. has drugs and other stuff + wants money, jewels, etc. + the day before, the Hanshin priestess bought a VIAL OF POISON from him + was told by his mob boss (also present) to hire a killer to kill Cabuul. Probably to test his trustworthiness? Possibly because of faction or religious feuds? Anyway he went ahead with it and hired a corrupt killer on the tal'vrak payroll - city enforcer I. + from 10 months ago to 8 months ago, Pregnant Lady was cheating on her Coroner boyfriend with you the street dealer * PSYFLORA (one whole flower, doesn't really break down into smaller units, the whole thing is the whole experience) * CITIZENS ARREST KIT (x2) (militia badge + truth serum = one time use of arrest bypassing the City Enforcers. Can't hold someone though, it's just to see if they did the crime you arrested them for) Hobo/Beggar + cabuul gave him money and knife to kill him after the speech. Apparently to martyr himself - the hobo doesn't much care. But Cabuul died before the beggar could follow his instructions + over the past few days with Cabuul in and around town you have seen Pregnant Lady really flirting with him and/or trying to talk to him about something + you know that from watching that the Hot Dog Vendor Dude is a tal'vrak drug dealer front * KNIFE Hanshin Priestess (Identical Twin Sister to Scientist) + there to kill the new radical idealist, Cabuul + has a vial of poison, bought from the Hot Dog salesman who's actually a black marketer. It's a now-outlawed a sacred Hanshin poison reserved for religious enemies. Was going to slip it into cabuul's food after he gave a speech, but dropped dead first! + is actually breaking her vows and is engaged in a sexual relationship with the Chancellor + he thinks she's in love but actually she's in it to get influence in the government affairs + doesn't get along well with her non-hanshin scientist sister. Doesn't know what she's doing here listening to cabuul either * VIAL OF POISON Outsider + actually a bank robber that escaped a neighboring land to hide out in Shyzoth and lay low. He's carrying a bag of gold + he's heard of a gathering in the square and knowing the volatile nature of the city, has come to look for weapons - ideally explosive - in order to fuel his next robbery + his sister is Cabuul's widow. Cabuul cheated on her with Pregnant Lady, hence he hates Cabuul, but he knew he's the kind of guy that draws the kinds of guys that have weapons, so he came to his speech * BAG OF GOLD City Enforcer I + wants to get to the bottom of the crime(s) * SEARCH WARRANT (twice per person can use it on someone to see what items they have on themselves) City Enforcer II + partner of I * PORTABLE POLYGRAPH (limit of three total uses to verify the truthiness of statements of fact, single clauses only. It's what the person believes to be the case.) Separate PM to City Enforcer I: you are actually on the corrupt political/municipal payroll of the tal'vrak. The "street vendor" has passed on a job to you: kill Cabuul. You did so, using a crossbow made from ice, and ice darts. After the deed was done (you fired from a rooftop and then came in when called to the scene) and it all melted in the desert heat, you were only left with the piece of wire (the actual cross bow), hence you actually have two items: * SEARCH WARRANT * PIECE OF WIRE Man Eating Sandwich + actually a private eye hired to track down a bank robber (the Outsider) who has fled to Shyzoth; located him in Shyzoth. Going to the square, just following the Outsider. Collecting data on him + you've done your research and know that the Outsider's sister is married to Cabuul + 9 months ago you were in town chasing a crook and slept with some random lady * BINOCULARS (twice per holder can choose an item (have to know name) and see who has it at that moment) * HALF-EATEN SANDWICH Coroner + was told to be there by Cabuul to confirm his death after Cabuul will be stabbed to death with a knife + has a sick mother at home, he needs a lot of money to help her out + can team up with the City Enforcers if desired. Will receive periodic information about how Cabuul died + 1 year ago to 6 months ago you were in a fleeting relationship with Pregnant Lady. But you know she was cheating on you too * SURGERY TOOLS (can be used to cut open Cabuul and inspect inside) Well-Known Tal'Vrak Mob Boss + All he's interested in is money and women. Mainly money. Out to get his hands on as much dough as he can, by whatever means necessary. + He has his eye on his new street dealer, he isn't sure quite how trustworthy the guy is yet. + Also trying to prevent the deal for the new Chancellor building, which facilitate the removal of his headquarters. + There in the square to meet with his rebellious son (Hippie) who said crazy s*** is going to go down + Also, the Mob Boss is actually the one behind the murder of Cabuul. Intel has informed the boss that Cabuul is a spokesperson for the Zamoan cult and a catalyst for change against the status quo (the mobs and corruption). If Cabuul's popularity grows or if his coded zamoan messages lead to enough instigation, the mobs would be done for. So the Mob Boss told the street dealer to hire someone to kill Cabuul after the speech. Hence the Mob Boss doesn't know who but the subordinates don't know why except for perhaps a hazy idea * REVOLVER (personal defense) Hippie + thinks he's witnessing profound events, man. + wants peace but came too late to prevent the death of Cabuul, which he figured might happen due to all the animosity in the city. + is a pickpocket by trade, using an item he invented from trippy rainbow clay: a counterweight to be placed in someone's bag/pocket and swapped with the item being stolen (if the person has more than 1 item, an item is picked randomly). However the person stolen from now has the counterweight and can use it themselves, etc. + told his father (Mob Boss) to meet him here too. He's been rebelling against him but wants to make amends + over the past few days with Cabuul in and around town you have seen Pregnant Lady really flirting with him and/or trying to talk to him about something * RAINBOW COUNTERWEIGHT Pregnant Animal Trainer Lady + late in third trimester + father could be a few different possibilities but she is sure (due to timing) that it's the Coroner. She wants to tell him at some point though she knows it would shift his priorities away from the invesetigation and toward getting money for her (because she really needs financial support from the baby daddy!) + though lately she has been attracted to Cabuul and while he's been in or near town she's really hit it off with him. She's actually quite the gold/fame digger! * DEADLY SNAKE Scientist (Identical Twin Sister to Hanshin Priestess) + studying psyflora but it's illegal because of people like her sister (neither sister knows why the other is in the square today) + so she needs to get it from illegal sources hence why she's here in the square. She has a small suitcase of BANK NOTES, the equivalent of 10 months funding from the association. First she needs to find a source of psyflora though... and her sister canNOT find out about this... * SUITCASE OF BANK NOTES

however, before it ended, at about NOON, Ziggy (Izzy) was also arrested, for pickpocket and petty theft
-
I believe that's game
-
Bob is released from custody in order to arrest the Businessman (Mr...) yuiop - the no BTSC applies to yuiop now - ... and about 3 hours left in the game! I'm going mountain biking in a minute but hopefully I should be back before it ends and hopefully Frost will be on as well
-
seeing as the game ends at 2:25 PM EST (UTC-05) on Thursday July 29th basing off of Frost's post counting 8 days from the game's starting time of that means that this game MMT will end in 13 hours and 25 minutes
-
Once again the arrestee has changed - Ralph is back in public. But now BOB - the hot dog vendor (MissKitten) - is under arrest and in a no-BTSC quarantine!
-
Don Marlon is temporarily released to allow personal quarantine space for a new arrestee: RALPH. That's right folks, one of the City Enforcers has just been arrested by the other for some crime. What could it be? Well you don't get to know, and you don't know whether the arrest was legitimate or not. But it does mean that the Don is back to communication, but now Ralph is quarantined from the general public and the same no-BTSC spiel above goes for him too
-
hahaha first and third are funny the second one is actually framing a complex problem of GOD vs FREE WILL so it's less of a joke and more of a debate starter lol.
-
did you read anything of the opening post of this topic? The above was stated clearly there too, just more condensed:
-
With not too much time left before the quarantine lifts, the city enforcers seem to come to a conclusion and make a rapid arrest of Don Marlon, who protests the whole time about lawyers and such. Hands cuffed behind his back, he is led away into the enforcers' private quarantine. NOBODY CAN INITIATE OR RECEIVE CONTACT WITH GMASTER479 (Don Marlon) IN ANY FORM (PRIVATE MESSAGE ON BRAINDEN OR ANY OTHER WEB MESSAGING/MAIL/CHAT SERVICE OR REAL LIFE FACE-TO-FACE/PHONE/TEXT COMMUNICATION, CODED OR OTHERWISE, USING A BROWSER OR A CHAT CLIENT OR EMAIL CLIENT OR OTHERWISE, ETC, ETC) - unless strictly unrelated in all fashions to the game of Murder Mystery Two, the topic of murder mysteries, and such related incidences, occurrences and gaming structures related to his particular role or happening or circumstance in this game. No hints or even references to earlier, present or future parts of the game may be made, even casually with no malicious intent. The only four people that Gmaster can contact behind-the-scenes OR BE CONTACTED BY are the two City Enforcers and the two game hosts (myself and Frost). Gmaster can hear/see what happens in the main square (hence he can read the public topic) but he himself cannot contribute to this (hence he cannot post). Nor can he discuss the game openly on another public venue, Brainden or otherwise, or read the posts and/or transcripts of such public - or private - discussions occurring here or elsewhere If he is a member of a multi-person private conversation, activity in that conversation by non-arrested members must cease or relocate, or gmaster must be booted from the conversation. Such is the situation of ANY person arrested by the City Enforcers (for any crime, whether successfully accused or not - all of which remains unknown to the public unless details are further divulged by the enforcers)... until said person is released. Which one of the hosts will declare
-
some people haven't yet realized: *** you cannot lose by being accused, correctly or not. You ONLY lose by being correctly arrested for a crime you committed! Either by enforcers' arrest, citizens' arrest or majority votes' condemnation *** if you have lost the game keeps going because there are multiple crimes. You can still play, you're just hauled off when the quarantine lifts. Of course the enforcers can hold their last arrestee as long as they want (but remember to make a subsequent arrest they have to release the previous arrestee; in that case the released prisoner has still lost, they just have freedom until the quarantine lifts at which point they are hauled off) is that any clearer?

I'm back (and all oriented for college ) I have some catching up to do though
-
the problem is that you cannot do that So firing one light beam on the other side of the room will magically reduce the time of the other light beam? Say the room is 1 lightyear wide (that's a big room ). You have a light emitter on each end, spaced a little apart though so that the light beams can "pass" each other. After half a year, the light beams will pass each other After a year, they will hit the opposite wall of the 'room'. That's all there is to it. Relative to you (if you are standing still in the middle) they are both moving at the speed of light. But relative to the photons, the photons moving in the opposite direction are moving at double the speed because if they consider themselves stable then it means the REST of the world is actually moving "backwards" at the speed of light, so compound that with the photons that are actually (from your perspective) moving that direction at the speed of light, and you get 2c. But that's just an illusion of the frame of reference. Their actual velocity each is C

unfortunately i will be rather held up the next two days by orientation. Meaning Sunday and Monday. But that's the best part of having two hosts See you guys on tuesday

 You made my day with that link! I hope it's not supposed to be serious. I also hope you've read fully what you just linked to

last letter is S faith = 0 means not FAI from FAILS. Either L or S same argument for FAIRS. Either R or S. Since L->R changed nothing, it's not the L nor R. Hence the S another way to look at it is to look at the four combinations: L from FAILS, R from FAIRS = in same place, not possible S from FAILS, R from FAIRS = in that case FAIRs would get 2 not 1 L from FAILS, S from FAIRS = in that case FAILS would get 2 not 1 S from both = only possible result

EDIT: READ MY *****WHOLE***** POST BEFORE RESPONDING. IT'S ALL ONE THING, A GESTALT, NOT MEANT TO BROKEN DOWN IN PARTS that's what you don't understand. With anarchy (what you are proposing is actually identical to anarchy or nearly identical - aka extreme libertarianism. Don't get me wrong though I admire you for being extreme but I don't think that being extreme - especially when it comes to politics, religion, etc - is a good thing, but anyway) you can only be just that - "as happy as nature allows". The idea of creating a regulatory system to enforce basic morality and social services is to allow more people than not to be happier than nature allows. It's about taking care of the people at all levels of society. The idea is that for the people that care about other people and know they need to pitch in for basic public services to be taken care of for them by a contractually regulatory body ('the government') to give some money from what they make in order to help others have a better standard of living.* Now don't get me wrong. I am a libertarian. So I believe in minimizing these programs as much as possible going down to the core of basic services and people they help, and making sure people don't freeload on the system, etc. But I still believe in a kind of public interface, one that really is accountable to the people. Maybe in the future a computer controlled government would be best. That sounds ominous but science fiction horror aside, I think it might be the best route. Not now of course. But later. More on that later. It's irrelevant to the point I'm making * the problem is when you get people that don't want to chip in. In many cases it will be because they're selfish and don't want to help others with their "hard earned dough". Or that they believe they can place it better than "the government" can - now that might be true. In fact let's say it's true for sure. But giving that permission to secede from the system and give your money away "as you choose" instead of "as the public you are part of has decreed by majority" basically means that it allows everyone to do so. You, UtF, believe in the goodness of people to help others in the situation of an anarchy. That just won't happen though. People will withdraw from the system and not make any "investments". Your main problem with paying into the system is that you don't trust the people to put the money where it should. Well that's the whole point of this topic don't you see - crafting a better governing public body that can allocate its inputted money properly to the maximum benefit of the people. This is a complex problem but we've been sidetracked from it by someone saying that they don't want to chip in at all because of the very initial sloppy oversized conditions of government that we (hopefully) want to eliminate to create a more efficient, transparent, trustworthy body. If we did succeed in such a venture would you trust us with your money? Probably not because you want control. You want power over what you've made yourself, what you worked hard to produce (or inherit from your parents ) - that's totally understandable. The problem is that the amount of production/money we would have taken to help others - with your system you might give less than that. Everyone would. People don't really give to charity as it is. Do you really expect everyone (with most people financially struggling as it is) to optionally pay "taxes"? They won't. Now if they're struggling, that's a good thing to not pay - they should be on the receiving end not the paying end. But see that's all part of crafting that more efficient better working machine to move the money. That's part of the complex problem. Not part of the reason to abandon it completely to a state of nature kill-or-be-killed. We want to transcend nature, right. To see if it's possible to create a system where all our time isn't consumed by the natural needs of survival, even that of belonging, but to strive collectively and individually for bigger and better things

sorry to butt in like a dbag here but Glycereine would actually get +30 which is the maximum non-host points that can be gotten per round (unless the host makes some kind of mistake and doles out extra points to make up for it or whatever). +5 per letter and a +5 bonus on the last letter. Glyc got the original U which is +5, then he got the remaining +25 when he guessed the entire word again with the dbaggery but I don't know if linguistic logic like that is allowed. What's the consensus on that?
