"...each letter is consistently-(always) replaced-(maybe) by a different letter in the alphabet." So for example, a 'B' in the code would always and consistantly equal a 'C' in the quote. So once you solved for that letter, you could go through the entire code and replace all of the 'B's with 'C's (keep in mind this is just an example and is not relevant to this puzzle). If you are asking if all of the letters are offset by X number of positions like a Caesarian shift cipher, then no. The are randomly and consistantly replaced. I hope that answers your question

It's a pretty straight forward cryptogram (depending on which level). Decode the message, each letter is consistently-(always) replaced-(maybe) by a different letter in the alphabet. Please don’t ruin it by using an online decryptor. And don't forget the spoilers! -This puzzle is what I call a level - 5 Which means that this puzzle is – Various in length. There is a consonant that has been completely removed from the quote below. It is up to you to figure out what that consonant is, and where in the words that consonant is missing. There are no capital letters and the name of the author has also been removed, and will be revealed once the puzzle is solved. Good Luck! uj vlr pvglwdq upqz l wjvjvyjw pr upr: l yj wjdon d dqn vlvjq l zpcj hg xud nlh dwj elw xud nlh vpzu yjtlvj. Edit: spelling error, now fixed

    was this correct?
  6. no you don't If the first is H the response would be Nobo Then when you asked the second, the reply would have to be Yabadaba OR Nobo (the R would have to answer no, the S would have to answer that yes, they are the Random) If you then asked the second god if the first was the Random (the 3rd question), you're gonna get the same answer that they gave the for the 2nd answer... however at that point you would now know (all this would determine is the difference b/w yes or no in a charted comparison against starting with the S or R instead of the H). Because if the 2nd god gave the same answer as the first god... and the first was the H as you proposed, then the 2nd MUST be the R. And if the 2nd gives the opposite answer from the first (and the first is the H as you suggested) then you know that the 2nd MUST be the S. to summarize... if the first is H (who would answer no), you would either get YY or NN from the 2nd god... and you never ever say anything at all to the third god and never hear any input from him. EDIT: Wait... I need to work through this again... for some reason I thought the R answered in the NEGATIVE if only one of the others answered in the affirmative (which is completely backwards from the OP)... oops sorry!
  7. ...? I never asked the 3rd one anything. I asked the 2nd god twice (two different questions), which I thought would distinguish b/w the 1st and 2nd gods and the difference b/w yes and no, and yield responses that would make conversation with the third god irrelevant.

  14. I haven't read the answers, but rather just skimmed through PT's posts to see if there has been a correct answer given. It didn't look that way so I decided to take a stab at it... I'm sorry if someone else has already suggested this.

Right... all of the N's were removed. k=d s=n (my substitution encryption yielded s=n, there are no s's in the puzzle) And congrats on the 8mins. I'll post up the Lvl 5 version tomorrow. I promise it will be more of a challenge Edit: ok, I see what you mean now. The letter K only appears in the quote once, and n=k. For future reference, the letter that is stated to have been removed, applies to the actual translated quote, not the random letters in the encryption. Sorry about the confusion.
  16. Well, it seemed that there was a general move to recruit Hades first... and whoever recruited me would be inherently weaker b/c of the two sacrifices... and since I could deject from whichever team recruited me after three nights and not risk suffering a loss with them... All signs pointed to betraying the first team to recruit me. However, once I was recruited I was misinformed that the Olympians team had lost all of their saving abilities... and since whoever I betrayed would likely come after me as soon as I betrayed them, I was dependent on the Olympians to cover my @$$. So with this new info I decided not to betray the Heroes, and worked very well with them for a short time (the Olympians seriously lucked out that my attack on Hermes was reversed). Then, I learned the truth about the Olympian's summons situation... that Aphrodite was in fact strong enough to cover my but, and that the newly recruited Demeter would be able to do it if Aphro couldn't. So, much later than I had planned, I acted on the incentives that I was presented... and betrayed my team. I deserve what I got in the end though... I was really looking forward to a story that established Hades as the new Sun God and instead... bah. So yeah... you should be glad that it wasn't you that picked me up... And I hope there are no hard feelings for the team I betrayed.

HAHA, well, welcome to the den pbcog! I hope you don't go completely bald while you're here! Well done! And welcome to you too SAFE This is the first day I've posted these in a looooong time, and we're almost all the way up to level 5! Should I post lvl 4 for next? or just jump straight to level 5 for 'Translator 25'?
  19. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but during my first game using the program I found a glitch... I was using the secret word 'Blonde' and the word 'Bubbly' inconsistantly yielded the result xooo the reason I say 'inconsistently' is because, just before writing this I tried it again... and it worked. THEN I closed the program, reopened it, and now it's checking as 'xooo' again... I cannot figure out what is going on.

I can't confirm or deny that until I first ask you... What's with the 'maybe'? is it a guess or did you actually solve? Next time I'll specify which letters need to be given Edit: Though, next time I may jump straight to a level 5. So it's much less likely that there will be very many answers in the first place
