Analysis: He just wants to see what's up in the background so we target him. Or maybe he wants us to think that so we can try to kill him and he can self-trap, so we target someone else. And maybe he knows we'll target someone else, so he traps the someone else that we target. But perchance we predict that he will do that, so we change our kill target back to him! (But then Grouse saves him anyway.) =P

Someone proposes something like this in every hat puzzle and every time it is against the rules. And then someone comes on and says "Imagine instead that they are isolated in a room..." I think the biggest hole here is that when you raise your hand you must shout the colour of your hat.
