Alternative is we make Bonanova save himself to prove his claim.
-
How about TwoaDay? I don't think he's said much, but if anyone else has any qualms about it then feel free to nix him as a candidate.
-
At least if you're telling the truth, and haven't acted last night, then you shouldn't die in the lynch today.
-
Anyone else around who can change votes without making a tie?

But I'll take my vote off you. @Araver: I thought you would be a good player to question because I figured you're experienced enough to be able to either share any useful info you've come across or give hints that wouldn't out too much to the baddies/indy. For example, saying that you were blocked N2 and probably by baddies -- Solomon Grundy being in the game is good to know. @Kikacat: Like I was saying to Phil, I don't think it's a good idea to say too much that will narrow roles with at least one and possibly two baddie RID manipulate abilities in the game. I'll say that I have an ability that can generate information, but I don't have anything to share from it. Since I'm taking my vote off Phil, I'll put it on Bonanova since he hasn't said much yet and to keep the votes from being too spread out (especially while two are on me). Just because Phil doesn't have info on him doesn't mean he isn't baddie/indy.
-
To be clear: I don't want you to out too much about your role Phil, just whether you're confident that Bonanova is bad or indy. Remember the baddies have for sure one role with dead-player RID manipulation, and possibly one with living-player RID manipulation.

I wasn't saying that Nana is our leading suspect, and I'm not voting for her or pushing other people to vote for her. I just noticed that if she were a baddie pulling shenanigans, then we could've busted her depending on who appeared to save her in the NP and whether or not that player actually did save her. If she's a goodie, then whoever saved her would stay quiet and I would continue to not vote for her. Only if someone were to come forward and say they're the role that appeared to save Nana but they didn't actually save Nana would I be trying to get her lynched. And if Phil says he has something on Bonanova then I'll switch. (Well, probably, depending on everything else that's going on.) His comment off the bat from N2 seemed really weird for a goodie to say, but now that you mention it, maybe it could mean he has info on Bonanova but doesn't want to say exactly what it is.

Doctor Fate: Y-san Roster: 1) Phil1882 - voting for Bonanova 2) Nana77 3) bonanova 4) tolecnal - DEAD [Martian Manhunter] lynched 5) flamebirde - DEAD [Hawkgirl] killed by Supervillains 6) onetruth 7) dee_tot 8) plasmid - voting for Phil 9) TwoaDay 10) Kikacat123 11) Araver 12) Barca I just realized the N1 post never said who saved Nana. The OP says that if someone gets saved by an innate ability, then they'll appear as being saved by a random role with a save ability. Can you tell us which role saved Nana N1? Nana's superfluous role narrowing D1 ruled her out as any goodie who would automatically be saved. So if anyone out there sees Y-san say that your role saved Nana, and you didn't intend to save Nana, then either you got redirected or she's busted. And I was going to vote Araver to stir up some conversation, but Phil's comment coming out of nowhere saying that he's not going to say anything other than that he's goodie when no one even asked him anything just looks a little too much like a cat that swallowed a canary.

Looking back, I missed that Nana asked for a save specifically from Superman and not Green Lantern, so I take back my earlier post. At least the part about that having multiple potential goodies targeting you for a save making it even less likely that Superman would out if you weren't actually saved by him.
-
Seems obvious to me: Suppose you're Solomon and you want to be seen as saved from the baddie kill and make it look like you're cleared as either goodie or indy. If Superman did NOT save you N1, there's a chance he might realize that Green Lantern and Batman are unlikely to use their saves N1, and he might out that fact that he didn't save you in order to catch a baddie or indy. With the request for a save, it would be more plausible that Batman or Green Lantern might save you, so Superman would be more hesitant to out. And all in all, it would be better off for your gambit if you really did have a goodie saving you. I didn't think that scenario was likely at first, but your statements during the day were either "don't suspect me because I got saved" or "I'm outing stuff that I shouldn't be outing if I'm really a goodie" or that flimsy thing above. So now I'm not sure whether to trust my initial logic which tells me you're more likely to be a goodie than a baddie who threw away a NK to clear yourself, or my gut that says something's fishy. Meanwhile, since we know Faust is in the game, the baddies are 95% sure to be redirecting someone N2. Do redirected players get told if they were redirected? And do spies get told who they were redirected to?

If she's baddie, she won't be saveable by manip-ing now. (At least I think the bylaws on tied votes mean the baddies would be able to manip it into a tie and make no one die if they wanted to.)

I don't think I've played in a game with Onetruth before, so, Welcome! But seriously, let's not leave things too close at the end of the day for the possible baddie vote manip. The goodie powers are definitely not all equal, so I was considering asking if it would be a good idea for a goodie with weaker powers to let themself get lynched if we don't find a baddie today, both to keep more powerful roles safe and to keep Faust from being able to RID role-copy a powerful dead player if their role is revealed from the lynch. Faust carried the NK so we know he's in the game. But I think I'd rather just roll the dice and hope we get a baddie or indy than end up with a for sure weak goodie lynch. Actually, just to make sure: Does the NP show the actual baddie who was carrying the NK, or just some random baddie for storytelling purposes?

Doctor Fate: Y-san Roster: 1) Phil1882 2) Nana77 - voting for tolecnal 3) bonanova 4) tolecnal 5) flamebirde 6) onetruth 7) dee_tot 8) plasmid - voting for Barc 9) TwoaDay 10) Kikacat123 11) Araver 12) Barca Yeah, Nana's not completely cleared. Solomon Grundy is unkillable at night except by Hawkgirl, so if Nana is Solomon then the baddies might have intentionally targeted her for the NK knowing that she would survive and seem to be cleared as goodie. Possible, but not highly likely, or at least not enough to make me want to vote her. Also could be Amazo. Since Y-san apparently can't find Barc, I'll give him an incentive to drop in and post.

Yes. Last faction standing unless otherwise stated. Confirmed. And crud, when a host says "unless otherwise stated" and the OP doesn't have any statements of otherwise-ness, that makes me think there are secrets in play. Can you confirm or deny the existence of secret abilities or secret wincons?
-
Ok, that's enough dallying around for now. Time for an answer. Edit: correction to the above.
-
Are there any other clues to work with? For example, if this is from a video game, can you look at a counter and tell us what's on it?
-
Just to make sure: If a prisoner sees his light getting flipped by someone other than himself, does he have any way to know whether the person flipping the lights is clockwise or counterclockwise from him? If the answer to the above is no, then are the cells in the cell block distinguishable in any way (like being visibly numbered) such that the prisoners can say "Whoever's in cell #1 should start signaling according to this code, and whoever's in cell #2 should do X but whoever's in cell #9 should do Y"? Or will the prisoners be in cells that have no particular identifying features?

We can't make the coefficients of the irrational terms in t2 and t3 go to zero using the same approach that was used with rational numbers, because the coefficient in t2 is positive and the coefficient in t3 is negative. If you subtract t3 from t2, then t2's coefficient for s2 gets larger; if you subtract t2 from t3, then t3's coefficient for s2 becomes more negative. You could try solving an example: {r1, r2, r3} = {2, 2pi, 4-pi}. Be careful not to let any of the terms become negative during the process. Edit: changed r2 from 2+2pi to 2pi so it would be the same format as {t1, t2, t3} terms.

If a prisoner sees one flip, how does he ever know that he's only going to see just one flip and not eventually a second one if he waits long enough?
-
It seems unsolvable, so maybe I don't fully understand the question. How independent of time intervals do things have to be? For example, if a prisoner sees four flips of the light and waits say five minutes (or any other period of time that you want) without seeing anything, can he safely assume that the string of flips he was watching has ended? Or do all the prisoners have to lie low at the same time when guards are about: meaning that if a prisoner has to interrupt a string of flips in the middle because of patrolling, then the other prisoners will also not be able to send flips at the same time? For most solutions I could imagine, unless one of the above answers allows them to give more info than I think they're allowed to give, we end up facing the problem of a prisoner having to wait indefinitely to know if another flip is going to be sent to him or if a string of flips being sent to him has ended.
-
Handling rational numbers was the easy part. Handling the case of irrational numbers looks like it's going to be tricky.
-
For clarity I probably should have written that using a different variable since I was re-scaling the r terms.
-
Looking through some of the older unsolved problems, I still can't solve this one but might be able to get it to a point where someone who stayed awake through Linear Algebra could maybe easily calculate an Eigenvalue or whatever voodoo that is to solve it.
