0 Guest
Eh? 'FF' is the only clue? If it's Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi. If it's Fantastic 4, Stan Lee? I've no other ideas what else 'FF' could mean. =/
0 fabpig
Frederic Forsyth springs to mind. But knowing bonanova (I met him in Costco once, and ), it's not going to be that straightforward. Is there an author .....Fullbyte.

If one were to subtract bonanova from the equation, could one still deduce a valid unique answer from the clues (i.e., not only by guessing)? If not, the clues given are insufficient. 0 bonanova
If one were to subtract bonanova from the equation, could one still deduce a valid unique answer from the clues (i.e., not only by guessing)? If not, the clues given are insufficient. Since Wilson seems reticent to supply his method, [or was it a guess?] here it is. Thinking hexadecimal, FF = 2B v ~2B Translated to binary, we have some "bits" of Bill's work: 1111 1111 = 0010 1011 v ~ (0010 1011) Why the question mark after "FF"? Because ... that is the question. And now we should be able to guess the Author.
0 Wilson
Humble apologies bonanova, I did not realise that the question was for me. Guessed at answer from Bill and double letters. No binary...just a bit of luck.
0 Molly Mae
Heh. referred to Burney 255 on the assumption of a hexadecimal clue. But I never made it to 2B.
0 bonanova
Heh. referred to Burney 255 on the assumption of a hexadecimal clue. But I never made it to 2B. Nice. OP might belong in logic/math more than word puzzle, but, it was literary so... Hope it was fun. - bn
