Hey t_mo, good guesses all, just not the one. Your first had been guessed and I described it as the closest I could think of without being it. Also said the answer though, was not synonymous. not it. Hey Jkb, your second guess for #1 is correct but not the rest.

Hey Scudo. An excellent guess but not it. Just for clarification, am assuming that is a guess for the second couplet. This riddle/puzzle is the third I've done like this where each couplet is a "mini-riddle" with it's own one word answer. After the six (in this case) are solved there will be some kind of manipulation of those six that then suggests a "final answer". Thanks for guessing and please do come back.

Wow, after a long dry spell, seems am back in tune. Really surprised as that was just a quick shot. Usually am studying yours for quite some time. Dont know exactly why even but that last line just popped that name in my head. Certainly another vivid and excellent metaphor. Thanks deannaart!
