Do you know me?

I just threw this together so I hope it is alright. :D

The place I am

You do not know

For if you did

You would say so

So sit right down

Let’s play a game

And I will put

You all to shame

I could be near

I could be far

I’ll go by train

Or plane or car

Just a short time

You have to look

To try and find

The thing I took

So start your search

Get on the case

And go to where

The crime took place

You call me evil

You call me vile

I really don’t care

That’s just my style

Now away I go

To plan a heist

And steal a thing

That’s highly priced

So if you think

You can find me

Come have a seat

And we will see

But first things first

Just for my mirth

Find my henchmen

To prove your worth

Do you know me?

Are the Henchmen

Travel Agents?

No. I didn't work in anything like that.

playing Hearts.

No, but I can see how that fits a little.

We're not monsters

But we're trouble

And take too long

It will be double

I sing to you

My serenade

To make you sleep

And steal your jade

What's that you say

I need a bath

I'll make you pay

And smell my wrath

I've busted loose

I wanna steal

I took your things

Now don't you squeal

could it be...

time?? hench men might be refering to the hands of time, and the theft of something precious might refer to loved ones.

No to both and it is about a person.

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight,

I've never seen you shine so bright,

I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance....

Spoiler for Is it stars?

Nope. It is about a single person.

Look back at my last hint. I'll add a few more lines to it.

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight,

I've never seen you shine so bright,

I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance,

They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance,

And I have never seen that dress you're wearing,

Or the highlights in you hair that catch your eyes,

I have been blind; Chris De Burgh

I could be way off but im thinking bullets. They steal life, if not found in time, what was shot could be gone forever, henchmen could be the shells left at the scene of the crime....

Nope, not bullets. I'm looking for a person. Could be real or fake alive or dead male or female. Edited by Rob_Gandy

Check out this hint again. When you figure this out you should know the gender of the person refered to in the riddle...and what they wear.

recognize the Chris DeBurg song - Lady in Red but still haven't got a clue. Unless it's Miss Scarlet from Clue© but she would be a murderer not a thief? Oh, or perhaps it's Y-san from her Lady in Scarlet? puzzle with us as her henchmen. - still thinking and have been for some time. When i saw you had posted to this thread yesterday, was afraid you had given up on us. we'll get there.

And i think Time Out's Dillenger response came from the Lady in Red clue as the woman who gave up his locale was known.
