0 plainglazed Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 "arm(s)" - swap letters around & get mar(s), ram(s) No, that does not refer to rearranging letters this time. See HINT in post #39 for hopefully not too confusing info as to what it may refer to. If confusing ask and maybe I wont confuse further.... 0 plainglazed Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 lies = isle because of the fifth AMENDment and i need a totally different set of letters for the 3rd couplet Wow, better than mine I think,Amendment; a different fifth. And dont forget the directors. (so also not isle but great thinking!) And yes, a totally different set of letters or words for the other pairings. Even then I suspect you may need to know the overall theme to know what you are looking for. (again see post #39), it acts as more of a segue than part of the answer. 0 plainglazed Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 they swap tales, stories No, and I fear I have totally muddled things up. The last line in the third pairing does not end the sentence but can be read without pause with the first line of the fourth pairing. What I was trying to get at by the HINT in post #39 and what I meant by segue in my last post. You can solve the third word by using only the first line in the third pairing Still think all would be better off knocking out the second word from the second pairing first. 0 Guest Posted June 3, 2009 Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) tails " life" line tails are often on live things, and you put a space in lifeline. Easter Isle allies(a from plead or l from 5th of all letters in that line)+lies/ or stick with lies stories/tales tails/tales short cut Running in circles and I have to leave for awhile, bet I'm going to slap my head when i see the answer! edited to include the second word Edited June 3, 2009 by chicory Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
0 plainglazed Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 tails " life" line tails are often on live things, and you put a space in lifeline. Am afraid I'm dense again. Dont understand tails? tiger_lily111 had some insight into this one in her earlier post. You are correct that lifeline should have been one word. Also checked plead and that was a typo too but plead (pronounced pled) is an alternative spelling. And did we ever solve the second pairing? 0 Guest Posted June 3, 2009 Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 I guessi've decided that the 4th and 5th are "is" and "truth" but that means allies or aligns won't fit. Be back later Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

0 plainglazed Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 Lilies or Lily from L(5th letter of the line) + lies Need to say this carefully. fifth is not meant to be the fifth letter in the line. 0 plainglazed Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 Easter 5th commandment Honor before lies weapons swap peas now= peace now is truth cut short Only regarding the second pair of lines. Still a different fifth. You were closer with your last line of reasoning for fifth. Excellent thought tho, will have to remember that one for future puzzles. Oh, and like that you have not forgot about the *before*. The rest of above is not it. Be back in a bit... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Question
plainglazed
Could be the perfect storm
But no, not either or.
And for not telling the truth
I've plead the fifth before.
'Cause in your local armory
You might swap me in kind,
For this life line's no aid;
Is another way to find.
A forceful piece that's constant
Carved a slice of special cake.
Put it all together and
Some sense of this you'll make.
