As an aside, a possible proof for the E's developed later on. There were 5+ words that followed the pattern ?e???e, all with unique letters in the 4 question mark locations, and all with the score of 2. It can thus be proven that no letter in a question mark position can score without creating a contradiction in the other words. DeletE -> reVokE -> meaGrE -> settEE -> peoplE where PEOPLE=2 but only is left with one letter to score. Thus the two points must come from the common letters, the two E's. Even tho I made the OP, I don't really feel like I have any ownership of the thread, so I'm just inclined to let the thread roll on until it dies a natural death - it gets confusing for new people to a thread, if the OP doesn't express what people are actually doing. At the moment, the number of different people in different TZs and having different posting habits seems to be sustaining the multiple threads... As an aside, a possible proof for the E's developed later on... I kind of understood the exclusion principle but I couldn't express it in a proof so I gave up and took the simple approach. Guest Posted June 3, 2011 Report Share Posted June 3, 2011 CASABA If 1 then last letter = A, as C/A/S/A have all been ruled out through other guesses and the only change from CASAVA to CASABA is the V>B. ?????A (C through Cycles)(A through dApple)(S through buSily)(A through belAte) - Fail logic If CASABA = 0 then the 5th letter is V for the same reason. ????V?
