0 plasmid
plasmid, your riddles most often me torment a perverse enjoyment, don't get me wrong, no lament just too often my brain they easily circumvent leaving me asea without the aid of any sextant? I can see how that would fit with everything from the sixth line onward. One sticking point is that in the second line, the two limbs would have to be atop the grin instead of beneath for it to fit. Not what I had in mind. Edited December 7, 2009 by plasmid

0 plasmid
A bow ? (as in arrows) Could fit with much of it, but the kinship to Atlas in particular would remain unexplained. again probably wondering down the wrong trail but hoping, in the end, perserverence to prevail although I can't picture each and every detail could it be, this thing, an old timey balance scale? Would fit many of the clues as well, although I'm not sure what the one-fanged serpent would be if this were the answer compass? Not what I had in mind; the connection to Atlas and the serpent remains elusive poison ivy? albinos? Neither of those, either

0 plasmid
WWII fighter plane I like the way this fits with the first stanza, but seems to conflict with the bit about bending. sling shot? Ha, in this case to succeed would probably be a minor sin! Having trouble making the one-fanged serpent fit though, perhaps a tattle-tale, but a baby with only one tooth would be too young to tell on you. 0 plasmid
Head Slap!!!! suspenders Shakeepuddn takes it for the win. Away from me three limbs extend - fairly obvious Just two are seen beneath a grin - when viewing the wearer from the front (facing his face) only two straps will show To Atlas I might be akin - its job is to hold things up To fail would be a sin - indecent exposure to be precise The one fanged serpent did me in - now virtually replaced by the one-fanged serpent: the belt Now shunned by man to my chagrin - no longer in style I'll never break but simply bend - for it's often made of elastic material, or at least is flexible And pray return again - who knows, they may come back in style Alas from now til then I dwell among the men Of ghostly whitened skin - the only place I now routinely see suspenders is on clowns, wearing makeup with a flat-white base when the solver just knows that everything clicks, thanks Shakee! And of course the most satisfying sound for any riddle writer is the
1 Shakeepuddn
Excellent riddle Plasmid. Those types are my favorite. Give yourself a 5 star vote and make it official. Question
plasmid
Away from me three limbs extend
Just two are seen beneath a grin
To Atlas I might be akin
To fail would be a sin
The one fanged serpent did me in
Now shunned by man to my chagrin
I'll never break but simply bend
And pray return again
Alas from now til then
I dwell among the men
Of ghostly whitened skin
