I don't think it's too hard, but then again, I made it up myself. It's based on my own knowledge and my limited English vocabulary (I am not a native speaker). Curious to see what you come up with.

Eric the Red as in Norway/Norse being the ancient language but also either Iceland or Greenland? for similar reasons and maybe more so about the cold feet close to the previously frozen water and arms and hands on the oars close to the water...

Oops, haha The flag of Wales contains a red dragon and the coat of arms of the French speaking part of Belgium contains a red rooster. So that's why I thought that
