Question

1. I am an object of nature,

green in the spring and summer,

red in the autumn

and bald in the winter.

My name sounds like beach.

They told me I cry.

(that part is easy)

2. A drunken man saw you twice.

He blinked, his view was vgue.

Enough beer for now, time for tea.

English as he was, he drank it with milk and suger.

His tongue felt think; when he ordered, it sounded like "sugal"

(there is an answer to this part too)

3. The language is odd,

It sounds old, almost ancient.

My feet are cold because

The surroundings used to be frozen.

My arms and fingers are close

to the source of the cold.

I hear a name - it's short.

It reminds me of a red guy.

I hear the waves meeting the rocks

not too far in the distance.

(this part gives the final answer, but it would be useful to have the answer to 2 too.)

The final question is: Where is part 1 situated, roughly?

A small hint: Part 2 gives a clue for part 3, but is not 100% necessary for the final answer.

I don't think it's too hard, but then again, I made it up myself. It's based on my own knowledge and my limited English vocabulary (I am not a native speaker). Curious to see what you come up with.

the Italian Lake Country? Glacial lakes in the Piedmont region of Italy so it once was frozen. And in the states some glacial lakes are referred to as finger lakes because of their shape which comes from the receding glaciers. But dont recognize the red or short name reference. Maybe Lake Como? since that name is short.

Thinking along the right line, but not completely there yet ;)

You know what JK, I decided to allow your answer anyway. Full explanation in the spoiler:

1. I am an object of nature,

green in the spring and summer,

red in the autumn

and bald in the winter. Tree, of course

My name sounds like beach. Beech

They told me I cry. weeping beech

Solved by Hambone post #8

2. A drunken man saw you twice. you double = double you = W

He blinked, his view was vgue. missing letter = A

Enough beer for now, time for tea. tea = T

English as he was, he drank it with milk and suger. Incorrect letter = E

His tongue felt thick; when he ordered, it sounded like "sugal" Missing letter = R

= water

Solved by Framm 18 post #54

3. The language is odd,

It sounds old, almost ancient. Italian descends from Latin, which comes from the Romanians, and their time + the Greek time is sometimes referred to as ancient history.

My feet are cold because

The surroundings used to be frozen. The river gets its water from the mountains (molten snow)

My arms and fingers are close

to the source of the cold. Next to the river

I hear a name - it's short. Po

It reminds me of a red guy. Explanation

I hear the waves meeting the rocks

not too far in the distance. Near the sea

Final solution = Right next to the river Po, close to the shoreline

Actually, I could just have said red guy. I did put the short name reference in to make it easier. Because there are many more red guys. Just think of St. Nicholas, Mario and Lucipher, and more.

Plus, I remembered Po, I am from a generation that did NOT watch the Teletubbies (it started on BBC in 1995, and I live in Holland, where it started later... I must've been 7 or 8 when it started here), plus I am much older than 12, I am 19 ;)
