  1. oops, I forgot a Mafia role I made: * The Godfather- random 1 of the Mafiosos. Can collect info one person every odd-# night. It's revealed whether the person is a Mafioso, Quark, Reaper, Defender, or "other Innocent" maybe see, I'm thinking of not having the Quarky Agents at all, at least this game
  2. I'll post new role ideas now: * Sphinx- appears normal by ay, but every odd-numbered night, they can protect one person (not themself and not the same person 2x in a row). If someone tries to kill the protected person, the would-be killer gets asked a riddle, to which they get one chance to guess correctly, OR they can back down and withdraw if they think the riddle is too hard (because of this, I make up the riddle, not the Sphinx). If they do accept the riddle, however, and guess correctly, the Sphinx steps aside and allows the killing. If they guess incorrectly, the Sphinx kills the killers. ALL of the killers. ie, the entire Mafia would be slaughtered (or if were the Grim Reaper or Vigilante, just the one person). That's why there's the option of backing down from the kill, lol. If someone tries to kill the Sphinx at night while the Sphinx is off protecting someone, the killer searches all night in vain. However, if someone tries to kill the Sphinx on an even-numbered night, the Sphinx can be killed normally, as she is not protecting anyone and is at her house. * Squeaker- knows the Defender's identity. If killed, reveals Defender to killer(s). If lynched, reveals the Defender to EVERYONE. Like the Defender, when the Squeaker dies, everyone knows that the person was the Squeaker. This is too offset the balance of having more Innocents to scan through to find the Defender * Mayor- a confirmed Innocent in the beginning. Everyone knows who the Mayor is. Also, the Mayor can stop 1 lynching of his/her choosing if he/she feels that the person being lynched is innocent * Detective- PMs me one person every odd-# night. Gets PMed a response either "guilty" or "innocent", though no specific information past that. Guilty means a baddie- mafia/GR/quarky. However, before the game begins, I roll a random chance. There is a 4% chance the Detective is a Sucky Detective, and reverses everything (ie, guilty appears innocent and innocent appears guilty). Another 4% chance that they're a Paranoid Detective, where everyone appears guilty, and another 4% chance that they're a Naive Detective, where everyone appears innocent. Of course, the Detective doesn't know his own status- however, the Mafia does know the Detective's status (or maybe the Quarky Spies will, depending if I actually use the Quarky Spy idea, that's only if we get enough people), though the Mafia doesn't know the identity of the Detective * Grim Reaper Savant- this person is a worshipper of the Grim Reaper. If the GR dies via lynching, this person dies with them. If the Savant is killed by the Reaper at night, everyone is told that the Savant was saved by a saving role, but the Savant actually is told of the GR's identity and can PM with the GR. The Savant can't kill or anything but they can work to sow discord to help out the GR, and the Savant wins with the GR. ^ I'm not sure if this is a good idea... and what happens if the GR dies at night by some other group? I don't know. I'll only impliment the GR Savant if we get a lot of people * The Coworkers- two people that know each other's identity and can PM each other freely (until one of them dies). If a Coworker dies during the night, their role is revealed (they say "my coworker will be angry" or something lol) but not the role of their fellow coworker. If the other coworker is dead, the identity of the second one is NOT revealed if they die at night. ^ This might be a good idea, but it seems like a waste of two Innocent role spots to me. I'm thinking of un-idea-ing this idea ;D I think I should impliment a Quarky Agent-related role if we get enough people to even have a Quarky Spy Ring
  3. btw, I liked the way my Mafia > Bomb > Inspector > Mafia knowledge triangle worked out. The Inspector knows a Mafioso's identity, two at the third day, and all of them by the fifth day, the Bomb knows the Inspector so the Bomb can trust him, but the Mafia know the Bomb so if the Bomb is too believing in someone, they might suspect that they're the Inspector.
  4. yeah, screw the Pirate/role-canceller type role. It's too unbalanced in either direction how did you guys like the Defender/Vigilante thing? I think it's good, cuz it's not too easy for the GR to win, but not too hard either. As for its relation to the Mafia, it's not too bad cuz the Vigilante doesn't start killing until the 3rd night, so the Mafia have enough time to figure out who he is and who the Defender might be, etc in addition, the Doctor role seemed kind of worthless, as we haven't had the Doctor save anyone yet. Should there be two Doctors (only possible if we get enough people) or should the Doctor be able to save TWO people per night? Also, I'm making it so that the Doctor can save himself, but only ONCE
  5. unreality

no, you can now, since if there are 0 girls, it's okay to have wolves thus, the solution must be: 2 wolves go across 1 wolf goes back (3g2w, 1w) 2 girls go across 1 girl comes back (2g2w, 1g1w) but from that point, it's impossible. One more girl than wolf has to go across now, but if both go across, one has to go back or not everyone will get across- but if one girl goes across she will be meeting 2 wolves, not allowed. So one girl and one wolf have to go, and 1 girl has to go back- but this makes 2 wolves and 1 girl on the opposite shore. But if the wolf went back instead, there would be a wolf majority on the original side hmmm, if it is solvable, then I messed up somewhere in the second step but I don't think this riddle has a solution at all ;D
  6. there are two options regarding this (a) no effect on the Mafia or the Quarky Agents (b) if the Pirate picks a Mafioso or a Quark, the entire Mafia or Quarky Spy Ring cannot kill it would seem that the Pirate role is worthless (detrimental actually) to the Innocents unless we go with Option B in a sec I'll post my ideas of some of the new roles and modified Mafia II roles
  7. Host: Unreality 1) dnae 2) puzzlegirl 3) Brandonb 4) pw0nzd 5) Frost 6) itachi 7) akaslickster
  8. hmmm- but that also means the two-face discovers the role of the people he/she helps, because they would get double. Maybe the Doctor would get to save two people, etc I'm thinking of someone like a Pirate, who can annoy one person every night by pretending to be a pirate ("aaar! avast ye maties! land ahoy!"), and then that person can't carry out their role that night- ie, the Doctor can't save, the GR can't kill, etc.

    hehe ;D good job Slick
  10. unreality

...? but they still outnumber them. 1 is bigger than 0 ohhhhh but I see! The OP never actually stated that the wolves would eat the chicks if there were more, he just said it isn't allowed. If he had clarified and said that, I think I would've understood thanks, Martini

    Mafia II

Mafia III is up ;D try to get as many people as possible to sign up (via PMs, profile messages, whatever )
  12. Mafia III Sign up now ;D 12 is the absolute minimum, though 15 is the real minimum. 18 would be awesome, and 21 is ideal for what I have in mind (more than 21 is even better ) Check out Mafia II for more information on what Mafia is, and the concepts and stuff: Post #29 - Rules Post #17 - Strategy Tips Post #51 - Intro Post #65 - A Wild Evening Post #77 - The Blue Octane Post #159 - To The Sharks!!! Post #174 - Open Warfare Post #338 - The Web of Lies Post #360 - Last Girl Standing Post #429 - A Firelit Lynching (& Epilogue) I won't post the official rules and roles for Mafia III until I know how many people are playing, so sign up quick * Dnae is invincible for the first night and first day * Puzzlegirl is invincible for the first night (If you don't know, those two are invincible because they died first & second in Mafia II) the roster: Host: Unreality 1) dnae 2) puzzlegirl 3)

    Mafia II

yeah it'd be like another cell of baddies that can PM each other behind-the-scenes, but they would operate differently from the Mafia and in different ways
  15. unreality

    Mafia II

roll a dice, actually ;D but yeah. If an odd number, the Bomb would blow. A random Mafioso (again, the dice- eek I said dice instead of 'die' lol) would be the assassin that night and get blown up

    Mafia II

thanks guys (didn't see your posts til now) I have some ideas for Mafia III (obviously it's being set in Oasis) ideally, I'd have 21 players: 3 Mafia 3 Quarky Agents 1 Grim Reaper 14 Innocents each Innocent would have a role: the 8 roles from Mafia II (though some of them slightly tweaked) as well as some more roles I made up: the Squeaker, the Mayor, the Sphinx (yes the Illusionist morph would be a new surprise, the Sphinx would exist from the beginning), the Detective (4% chance of being crappy, 4% of paranoid, 4% of naive, 88% of being a normal detective) and then 2 more roles I haven't decided on yet (I was thinking of making something called the Coworkers... another option would be a Grim Reaper Savant... maybe another Doctor... but still thinking ) anyway, 21 people is kind of a push I think. Do you think we could get 21? I'm hoping for 15 people at least next round, for a longer Mafia game

well, good game everyone! and congrats to the surviving Innocents: Itachi [sage] Frost [Vigilante] Pw0nzd [Doctor] as well as Pieman [bomb] even though he died at the end to blow up KOP and a congrats to ALL of the Innocents, dead and alive, for winning at Mafia ;D and congrats to Scott/IMLRG, the Grim Reaper, for being a pwnage GR twice in a row (hehe) and still confusing people even after your death. and of course, to the group which the game is named, the Mafia, for being excellent baddies and spinning a very complicated web of lies ;D I don't think Slick comprehended that he had been roughed up (I PMed him three times lol) as that might've helped your plan that emerged near the end, but you still were pretty close to winning (even though KOP was up against a lot at the end, he did his best it was a Mafia mistake to not take out the Bomb while they still had more than 1 person- just cuz you know his identity and can't kill anyone doesn't mean he's not a threat- he knew the Inspector was dead, and of course he had a 1/2 chance of exploding, so it would've been risky if KOP took him on alone) anyway... great game everyone Mafia III to start soon

also, does anyone want any more specific info? who people saved, who people spied on, etc, etc? what certain people were thinking when they said certain things on certain pages, etc? also, if the Grim Reaper had died before the Illusionist, the role would've morphed into another role I made called the Sphinx * Sphinx- appears normal by ay, but every odd-numbered night, they can protect one person (not themself and not the same person 2x in a row). If someone tries to kill the protected person, the would-be killer gets asked a riddle, to which they get one chance to guess correctly, OR they can back down and withdraw if they think the riddle is too hard (because of this, I make up the riddle, not the Sphinx). Post #29 - Rules Post #17 - Strategy Tips Post #51 - Intro Post #65 - A Wild Evening Post #77 - The Blue Octane Post #159 - To The Sharks!!! Post #174 - Open Warfare Post #338 - The Web of Lies Post #360 - Last Girl Standing A Firelit Lynching Early Morning The fiery wreck of Nayana's house illuminated the semi-circle of Awesomeville citizens. They knew there was still a baddie among them, and they wanted him dead. They had chosen King of Pain. "Cmon guys," he pleaded. "Frost is lying to you!" "I'm the Sage," Itachi replied. "And that makes me wise- I say you're a Mafioso. Burn in the fire you started!" "Yeah!" the others yelled. "Burn in the fire that you started, KOP!" "Wait, guys," King of Pain said desperately. "I played a good game, didn't I? I distanced myself with Brandonb after realizing he was going to be lynched. I shifted the focus off of myself. I brought the downfall of other Innocents..." "You did play a good game," Pw0nzd acknowledged. "But that ends now." "Sorry I'm late, guys," Pieman said, just arriving at the scene. "Who are we lynching?" "King of Pain," Frost explained. "The last Mafioso left in Awesomeville. Burn in the fire you started!" "Wait, wait," King of Pain snarled, as the crowd of Innocents advanced on him slowly, pushing him closer to the hungry flames behind him. They were busy consuming Nayana's house, but they wouldn't mind it if King of Pain fell in as an entree. KOP was starting to get angry now. Of course he was a Mafioso! He had tricked them from the beginning, playing an excellent game of deceit. And they repaid his devious lying and night-killings by lynching him? "One day, the Mafia will rule this town like it did in the past!" he roared, stumbling a little backwards. The heat from the sweltering fire behind him rolled against his back in waves. "One day," he repeated. "One day, you'll be sorry. Sorry for lynching Brandonb! Sorry for lynching me!" "Who was the other Mafioso?" someone called out, the leader of the Awesomeville Fire Department, though everyone else already knew. "Grey Cells, silly," they said. KOP nodded, his eyes wide and calculating. "Yes, my friends, it was me, Brandonb- and Grey Cells. It's unfortunate he was scythed down into Grim Pond, or we may still be infiltrating you to this day!" "Nonsense!" cried Frost. "I'm the Vigilante!" KOP laughed. "So what? I just roasted your pretty Defender, didn't I? You aren't invincible! You may have shot Brandonb five times in the back of the head with your Penguin Pistol, but you can still die like the rest of us." "What about me?" Pw0nzd asked. "I'm the Doctor." "And I'm the Sage," said Itachi, and everyone chuckled. That wasn't much of a disputed fact anymore. Even KOP chuckled, then caught himself. "Do you think I'm gonna let myself be pushed into a giant fire? I don't think so!" "Ohhhh," said Pieman. "Really? You want to die like Brandonb?" "Well, he was agreed to be the Most Bada$$ Mafioso," KOP admitted. "And his way was better than being hanged.... but I'm not going to die at your hands! No, I'm getting out of this town and heading to Oasis! That's where the action is! The Glorious Mafia has installed a new crime ring inside Oasis... I've also heard that there are Quarky Spies infiltrating Oasis too..." "I'm curious about people's roles," Pw0nzd said. "I'm the Doctor... who was the Inspector?" "Dnae," Pieman responded, nodding intelligently. "Ah, too bad," muttered Frost. "He was the first to die- he could've helped us a lot." "We didn't need help," Itachi pointed out. "Though maybe more of us would still be alive today." Among their discussion, nobody noticed KOP slowly slinking away to his left. "And Puzzlegirl was the Illusionist of course, and Nayana was the Defender," Frost was saying. The firelight glinted in KOP's eyes as he spotted his exit route, down the street and out of town. He would hide in the massive chain grocery store until everyone had stopped looking, living off of food, then he would head to Oasis to serve the Mafia once more. "I think we got it down," Itachi was concluding. "But what about the Spy? Was that Scott?" "I think so," said Frost thoughtfully, scratching his chin. "Muhahahahahahahahahaaaaa!" came a malicious laugh from down the street. The Grim Reaper was whisking closer, surrounding by a wind-tousled black cloak. Underneath the hood, they saw a familiar face. "Scott?" Pw0nzd asked. "You were the Grim Reaper?" "Indeed," Scott/GR laughed. "Only a day or two after I was killed did Brandonb realize the mistake- if the Mafia had decided not to stick a poison syringe in my neck, more Innocents would be dead. Of course, the Mafia killed me because they were sure I was some Innocent role, I forget which. It was definitely Open Warfare that night- I had decided to kill Grey Cells because he had been outspoken against me the previous day. Little did I know that he was there at Grim Pond to watch me, as the Mafia were planning my execution that same night." "How are you- how-?" someone sputtered. "The Grim Reaper never stays dead for long!" the Grim Reaper announced proudly, quoting the Quarky Spy known as "Grandma" who lived in the town of Tumbleweed. "Just as I arose after my previous death in Awesomeville, I arose again! However, you guys beat me in this place, that's for sure. I'm off to Oasis, where the action is now!" The Grim Reaper disappeared into the darkness. "So that means... Slick was the Spy!" Frost said, realizing his mistake the night before. He slapped his forehead. "My kill as Vigilante wasn't the right one." "Don't beat yourself up," Pw0nzd said. "I understand now that it was Slick that was roughed up that night- when I was the Doctor, that night I was protecting Brandonb- stupid, I know, but I didn't know better at the time. I heard someone getting roughed up- it was Slick, cuz he lives near Brandonb, and Brandonb was a Mafioso!" "Well," said Itachi. "I think we've got it down... except," he added, turning toward the fiery ruin that used to be the Defender's house. "Where's KOP?" KOP laughed from the edge of the fire. Unless something was done NOW, he would escape. "Everyone move," said Pieman grimly. "I'm going after him." "No," Frost said, reaching for his pistol, but it wasn't there. "Don't be an idiot," Pw0nzd said. "If KOP pickpocketed Frost, then you can't run at him." "I'm not running at him," said Pieman, then, before anyone could stop him, sprinted straight into the massive fire. It took a second of utter shock. Then: BOOOM!!! The Bomb exploded with a massive eruption of fire and light and noise and bellowing shockwaves that roasted KOP on the spot, turning him into a human-shaped cloud of fiery cinders for a moment before the shockwaves came rolling outwards, blazing over the street and tousling everyone's hair like a cyclone. Then all was still, and nobody moved for a while minute. Then: applause. Everyone started clapping, clapping away the fear and confusion and death and deceit and lies that had been spun the previous three days and nights. It was over- it was finally over, and Awesomeville had come out on top. They had lost some great Innocents, but they were sacrifices in the name of the ultimate victory. The Mafia and the Grim Reaper were dead, and Awesomeville was at peace. For now. Epilogue "That's the story, kids," the grandma said, finishing with her cruel cliffhanger meant to scare the little brats. After all, the grandma was a Quarky Spy, a sleeper agent from Content Phoenix's neighboring country, Quarky. The sleeper agent had just been reactivated. The grandma left the kids sleeping (or quivering and quaking in their beds, scarred for life of tales of Awesomeville, the town not too far north from Tumbleweed) and rode on her dune buggy across the desert toward Oasis, a large, sprawling desert trading city gathered around a cluster of watering holes and palm trees. It was the southmost city of Content Phoenix, and very close to the hazy desert border between Content Phoenix and Quarky. It would be Quarky's first prize in their advance northward, using Quarky Spies to infiltrate the people and kill them off. There was also a rumor that the Mafia had set up in town... and of course, the Grim Reaper had arrived a week before after the explosion at Awesomeville (the grandma's story had been a very recent one) and was ready to cause some trouble, as always. The Host God Unreality shifted his focus to Oasis, thinking about roles and promising to make the topic for Mafia III soon ;D The End did anyone get any of the clues I put in since "To The Sharks!!!" Here's some of them: To the Sharks: * GC was holding a pitchfork, which is often associated with evil * Frost talked at about the same time the Grim Reaper snickered, which means Frost isn't the Grim Reaper (you are lol), but I worded it in a way that disguised that Open Warfare: * the name itself was an allusion to the fact that the GR was killing a Mafiosos and the Mafiosos were killing the GR * "a dark form passed by, silhouetted by the moon" - sort of a clue that Scott (you) were the Grim Reaper * the fact that GC was there at Grim Pond at all, standing still: he was watching Scott * the roughing up- showing that [a] someone had been roughed up (it was slick) and Brandonb was a Mafioso, as the roughing up was near the Doctor, and Brandonb was the one that the Doctor had chosen to save that night The Web of Lies: * Frost was a total bada$$, and carried a pistol, etc, cuz he was the Vigilante Last Girl Standing: * the Doctor is not Slick cuz the Doctor went to sleep in the Awespital while Slick was in his house when he got double-pwned * the "shadowy figure" reference was about Kingofpain, cuz at first he had decided to kill Slick that night (and thus Slick would've been shot from both sides, by the Vigilante and last remaining Mafioso) but instead KOP decided to kill Nayana that night
