  1. Let's see what I can do. You people focus on evidence; what I want to know is the circumstances of the death. Why was a rusty suit of armor needed, for example? Ask the butler and the wife about any superstitions, etc. that Mr. Wellesley may have had. It may have something to do with the strange situation. Maybe he had a problem with the suit of armor? Maybe there was something symbolic about it. Logically, the assailant would have killed Mr Wellesley, and then positioned the suit of armor. That seems the only way they could have done it. The question is, why frame a suit of armor? Now, why would one choose a rusty sword to kill him? That seems more a "heat-of-the-moment" sort of crime. Perhaps the second glass suggests Wellesley was drinking casually with somebody, and then they killed him? Under those circumstances, the most likely suspect would be Kaufman, or possibly the wife. Just thinking out loud here from a psychological perspective. Might spark an idea.
  2. I just logged in maybe 2 minutes ago. BrainDen's amazingly rich community is, to be blunt, gone. Somehow, we've lost everybody and everything. I'm one of them; I moved on from BD. There were those before me, those after me, and now, nobody's left. Sure, bona and plasmid fight valiantly, but our once-powerful empire has fallen. MM's fallen, too; hardly anybody left. There doesn't appear to be any chance at getting people back, unless we make some sort of amazing, drastic change. But I don't think that's going to happen. It's just...sad. I used to be in love with the site. So many senior players in the forums, so many riddles...Now it's gone. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was my depressing opinion piece.

    Wow, Mike, that's a really cool game idea! But yeah, what Nana said, the WinCon is way too obscure. Perhaps just make it that they need to RID Kill something with wings and something with poison.

  9. Ah, yeah, nice catch fabby. Ok, so basically we're only looking for #1. Stanza 2)Green Arrow Stanza 3)Green Goblin Stanza 3)Green Hornet I noticed they all have the same amount of letters in them. Maybe the second name is only 6 letters too? Edit: Wait, Arrow has 5. But still, thinking along those lines is worth a shot.

  11. I'm liking Green Goblin. Goblins were in fairy tales, and horror tales, and Spidey must have considered him a friend. Fourth looks like Green Hornet. Not sure about others.
  12. Ignoring the numbers for the time being. From the bolded sentence, I'm getting a definite theme of chess. Not sure about the second or third paragraph, unless it's the reference to "skill" and a definite "he", which could refer to the King.

  15. Quick question: Do we jump over squares? i.e. If we land on 4 and then move to a spot 4 spaces away, do all the spots in between get used, too?
  16. Fabby's on the right track. It's a language, probably a form of Japanese; that's what "characters" refers to. We may have to figure out the language and translate the given numbers. Edit: Wait a sec, fab gave a link that contains three parts of the Japanese language; Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana. At least two of them should make the H and K. Also, the paintbrushes probably refer to Asian calligraphy.

  18. We need our Math Masters up in here. Where's MikeD, MM, TripleOption, psyko, etc.? I haven't the faintest about number sequences. I'm only useful for some wordplay.
