Just one thought, because Indies have slightly different wincons, they actually are part of different factions (until they join the goodies). So, if you can, please color them with green & purple so that it's easier to see the difference in WinCons. Thanks. For the rest, what can I say ... you've received a lot of great feedback and it's been patched so that all factions benefit of inheriting abilities, no one will get bored playing this as a vanilla all the game You still need to decide on an order of actions / preference : mainly if the NK must be carried / can be blocked (my personal preference will be unblockable group kill) and if the Indy RID Kill goes (is counted) before the goodie kill (which would make sense so that Dandin does not kill Gabool before Mariel). And possibly get a mentor (ride-a-long) host just to keep all angles covered and have a backup in handy with you during the game Oh, and I went ahead and queued it in theGames to come.

    Harry Potter Mafia I

*shrug* The spreadsheet is open for anyone to edit as there is no actual moderator. There have been a lot of ideas mentioned in the "Games to Come" thread, not all of them are added since no one but the designer knows the actual phase they are in: idea / roles finished / ready to be posted for feedback, etc.

Can't help myself adding a few notes: 1) You can't print/download PM conversations. It's not a standard feature for IPB 3.1.x forums such as this (some people wrote a hook for it, but it is not installed, nor advisable to be installed on BrainDen). There is no better option than copy-paste as far as I know. 2) The BTSCs you see on top of this forum are from older games, when the Admin (rookie) allowed hosts to have their own hidden sub-forums for Mafia BTSCs. The forums are visible now for historical purposes, not being used. The host-private-conversation BTSC has been the standard BTSC-way for a long time now.

    Harry Potter Mafia I

Not really, see the discussions in the and the "official" queue here. Looney Tunes is still being designed / finished up. The feedback thread for Looney Tunes did not mark it as ready Harry Potter 2 should be next if Shadow is ready.
  6. I updated Shadow's Mafia and Hirk's continuous Newbie Ideas in the Brainden Mafia queue. As for other ideas in this thread ... feel free to add them to the queue @curr3nt - you said you needed some time to finish Looney Tunes and possibly a co-host ... I can help with that if you'd have me. @Segul and DarthLegion - you can update the Magicians Mafia status. I haven't spoken with you since I asked you to let me switch places and run UN Mafia II. Thanks.

    Newbie Mafia

OK, just to be clearer on having multiple threads running around. This is supposed to be a continuous thread for people who have never player Mafia online in a forum environment or have not played Mafia at all. Players that feel they've completed a few Mafias or are familiar with playing Mafia in a forum environment can jump to more advanced / complex Mafias ... Please check * the BrainDen Mafia Queue * thread - to see which upcoming games are addressed to which range of players The comments above are not a mandatory set of rules, just a warning of how the hosts designed their games ... from simple (more vanilla roles) to complex (almost everyone has a role and there are a lot of abilities).
  8. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

    @PG - what third decade? *rolleyes* =P

    Minecraft Mafia

Night 4: No shelter for old mobsters ~~~ Notch was utterly bored as he looked at the die. He chose to take a quick walk and spend the rest of the night in his shelter. ~~~ Vineetrika was moving stealthy in hopes of finding a shelter along the way. As she lifted her eyes towards the moon, ice creaked in front of her and down she went in Squid's trap. ~~~ Sheep was again bored, but he saw someone in the distance and provided shelter for the night ... not needed of course (sheeps are not known for being particularly intelligent) ~~~ Shadow7 was counting on her fingers as she heard Chicken approach. She quickly jumped and ran away, but Chicken still managed to get a good look at her. ~~~ Maurice kept running through the forest, sensing his followers near, an oinking not far behind. The moonlight cast his shadow closer and closer. Just as approached the cliff, his shadow caught up with him, followed closely by Pig. Creeper stuck his tongue out at Pig and reached the cliff first. Maurice's laugh was heard all the way down ... ~~~ Game is Over: Liquids and Goodies win End of Game Roster: Actions (with the exception of Herobrine/Abhisk who is inactive and I don't have access to his conversation with BlaBlah) can be found on the wiki: Minecraft Mafia. Day/Night links: Hopefully BlaBlah will get free from IRL stuff this summer and deliver us the awesome video post that he promised in the Ghost Thread. In the meantime, hope this brings closure for all of us.

    Newbie Mafia

This is supposed to be a continuous list for new players - not engaged in Trainer's Manual Mafia I and II. So, basically, new Trainer's Manual Mafias will be started once these signups are filled. And there will (probably) be more hosts available besides Hirk to host these new Mafias.

    Minecraft Mafia

OK, I added all of those I'm 99% sure. Still lots of actions missing, so ... if Hirk does not want to say anything, then please add maurice and araver as "independent auditors" (one is a baddie, one is a goodie). I will reciprocate if you want to see the other threads. Thanks.

Hmm, they are both validated (checked their profile, none says Validating). The other usual suspect is inbox full: I think they need to delete some PMs to be able to receive more.

    Minecraft Mafia

We're just trying to shed some light on it. There, I added what I know on Minecraft Mafia page (after seeing my, Slick's and maurice's BTSC). Now if someone where to edit the rest of the roles or add one of us to the ghost thread, we'd get the rest.

    TMM II

I would leave it for the host(s) to assign the mentors by adding them to the same conversation in which you receive the role (or a different private conversation which also includes the hosts).

Hmm, he needs to have a clearer inbox... with Trainer's Mafia II coming up. But I will add Hirk as well. EDIT: I just created a folder named Hirkala

Hmm, can we get someone independent to be added to all PM conversation so that we can make the night-post ourselves? It's been two weeks, and I don't think Bla will ever post it *shrug*

    UN Mafia II

Yup, this is a misconception IMHO on what "hints" are or how hints should be. If I say something which references subtly a Movie, a Beverage, an expression, basically any cultural stuff, then IT IS OUT THERE for everyone to see. Everyone should be looking for those thing. Baddies are forced to look, they need to know who to kill, and even if 1 or 2 are inactive or misses it, one of them usually sees it. Also, there is a nasty side-effect if you play for people all over the world, they may not have the same cultural background as you do, and they might miss it altogether. Clever hints are those which can only mean something to the people that have an extra shared information. I agree, this is not always available, but when it is possible, it has great impact. E.g. Being a spy and signaling yourself to another goodie that you know his role WITHOUT the others (including baddies) getting it AND WITHOUT exposing yourself too much (i.e. the info does not out you as being the spy) ... that is a hint and that is clever Mafia play. Again, I know, not always possible. But this should be searched for first. Not as a defense from being lynched, but as a means to get info out in the open without others picking it up.

    UN Mafia II

@solman - Again, I've seen the baddie BTSC. Maurice had both the first and the last call in all actions N1 and N2 and they could have won by all three getting their individual WinCons had Maurice not been lynched D2. This balancing-agreement ensured that no baddie would powerplay the other's actions to reach their individual WinCon on their own and brought a second layer of trust within the baddie BTSC. @Curr3nt - D2 lynch was rather weird to explain minute by minute, but, in all honesty, the plan to which Maurice refers to, with Shadow's switch and Molly's vote (who was occupied with hosting a Mafia) would have ensured them enough votes for a win if Marq had placed x2 (which she did till the very last minute) or a tie with x1 (which was the final call). Again, plan devised by Maurice and not executed by Shadow, and betrayed by Molly for self-preservation (basically no point at that time). Also, it was wrong to put it out there, from multiple reasons. I will only give you 1. Molly and Hirk mentioned the rest, and I'm sure Maurice will chime in on the rest. EDIT: Maurice already did that as I was typing... In your position, outing yourself as Sweden + supporting Hirk's claim blew to pieces any WIFOM the baddies had. So from speculation, they went to absolute certainty and narrowed down the rest of roles as a result. It is very good that you picked all those strong hints (Again, hints from them and claims ONLY TO YOU because you knew who you were AND you knew Australia's spy results which the others did not). But there is a very fine line between having that info and sharing that info. If you were a goodie, it may be a useful strategy (although, from experience, people are NOT inclined to believe you if you have not been cleared first). But you were an Indy with a secret WinCon. You should have known you could NOT be trusted. This is Mafia. If you wanted to get the trust of the goodies, or to get info out there, you should have hinted to the right people (Hirk for example) in a way that only they (and no other) get it using info only you two knew (such as the "Molly is Spain" spy). And even then, chances are they won't believe you. This is Mafia. By saying things out loud, you tip your hand and everyone else's as well to the other faction (which you cannot possibly know what knows or suspects at that precise moment). Basically, WIFOM and hints would have gotten you much further IMHO.

    UN Mafia II

Yes, the credit was due to BTSC discussions. He could have had his WinCon met earlier (USA and Russia were known to them after N1/D1), but he supported (and even proposed) actions in N2 that allowed the other two to achieve their own individual WinCon. Maurice did most of the powerplaying in both N1 and N2. Else. The baddies escaped because: - All able players abstained - Molly and Shad's votes counted x0 (since they tried to leave) and you could have lynched both of them (tie lynch=all are lynched). All it took was 1 vote on Molly and 1 vote on Shad. - No one asked questions about the group WinCon, except for the baddies (and the ghosts). - Hirk could have killed Molly in N3 and complete his individual WinCon. GJ had no chance to fill his individual WinCon. Both Marq and Solman continued their quest to fulfill their individual WinCon. Also, I believe Hirk is mad because his WinCon was almost completed in N2 when he did submit a correct RID. Incidentally, the arrest on him in N2 prevented him from completing his individual WinCon in my opinion since his WinCon said "Must correctly RID Kill 1 baddie before leaving the game." "Correctly RID Kill", not "RID Guess" nor "submit a correct RID Kill action", which can again be regarded as a semantic difference *shrug*. So, I think he is (also) pissed at my interpretation in his individual WinCon.

    UN Mafia II

@curr3nt & Hirkala - Yes, I know you are mad. It is your right. But this game was not about group WinCons, that was a failsafe if individual WinCons were no longer achievable. And elimination stands for to remove from further competition by defeating, not by letting people go.
