Me too, and with this one as a whole. That's definitely not to say I'm not enjoying this txmom2. Who here doesn't have a little masochistic streak in them anyway.
  3. Please do and check back. Will have my machine close by. Thanks for playing along.
  4. Kool.......so let me ask...I need to find the answer to... Nope, nothing to do with that line either. Should I say which line?
  5. EDIT: It has been a great riddle... that other EPIC just jumped out at me...lol Once again you've found something I had not noticed. Maybe we should collaborate and I'll write some confusing double speak and you can "solve" it then we'll post .
  6. Wow Jkb, how did you ever find that? Am afraid I did not compose that intentionally. Will say that the letters to the answer are not themselves in the body of the riddle for the third play on words.
  7. Most excellent DD. Followed all along but was so stumped I never had a concrete enough answer to place a guess. Really fine riddle!
  8. Good Morning Jkb - certainly nothing intended to be about me in there. You did catch the fact that riddles are alluded to within the riddle which was indeed sorta meant to confuse. Riddles were often part of epics especially ones of great journeys. Spot on re the two PoWs you have above. Will say the third is not involved with the other two lines you mention. As long as you care to hunt, I'm game...
  9. Hey Wilson, Nothing wrong at all about that answer. Quite close, just not right. Very well written puzzle/riddle I must say. Good thoughts, was hoping this would last long enough to go down a different path or two. Not it though. And thanks for the compliment! Good day to you PG...........let me start out by the most obvious Aha, not so, so obvious. Not to me at least. An intelligent answer for sure but not what I'm after. Yes indeed, that is the final answer. Well deduced DD. You said you found a couple. Am guessing that's two out of three direct play on words that describe the answer. Care to share? Anyone want to try and find the puzzle(s) within the riddle? If not, I will post my reasoning momentarily.
  10. Hey you guys, thanks for the replies. Good thoughts both but not it. Please keep at it.
  11. When reading this poem lend closely your eyes A heroic tale you will no doubt surmise Original intentions to conquer and rise Treacherous journeys of intrigue, surprise Behold the dangers, literal demise Her prince each and every second decries Disastrous instruction regardless arise No end to this piece, puzzles disguise The fate of the people determined if wise. So now you must certainly, me recognize.
  12. Wow, thanks so much for such songs of praise. I had a blast. That's just icing on the cake. Might think y'all are just pulling my leg but I dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth. At first I was on pins and needles, worried this one would come down like a lead balloon. Especially as it kinda started off on the wrong foot; had this sinking feeling that it would be just a flash in the pan. But in next to no time at all we got on the same page almost as soon as hugemonkey came up with the theme and DudleyDude the overlapping concept. As a rule of thumb I should know better by now to sell short my fellow Denizens. Well, I dont want to beat a dead horse. Back to square one. Thanks again. (now if I could just stop speaking in idiom...)
  13. Hey WIlson, great answers. Especially like the multiple entendre for 6. Am about out of steam myself. Call it a game?

OK, got a little cold feet for a moment. Think this works. Hope this is on the right track. Awesome puzzle Tuck!

EDIT: Think I might be onto something but have to rethink some. Have been convinced this is not doable but now have a glimmer of hope. Not sure of what I just posted. Hopefully be back soon.
  16. hah, very clever, like it. I certainly like to think I might be considered that tricky. not really what I had in mind tho.
  17. that works for me. another "sound" alternative okay, may have been guessed. would not work with my original translation for 6. not really singing my song with this one. Don't know if this has been guessed already. Sorry, no double dipping allowed (cant remember if already guessed but game was already used for the clue "on the other end") Had to edit last one forgot to hide the answer. same same... EDIT: missd dD's first guess the first time around...
  18. Word for word what I had. Good job you two (hambone). You all have translated all of mine but 5. and 6. for which you have given several perfectly good alternatives. If no objections, I will post mine in 5-6 hours; hopefully after I've noticed all who have been playing along have had a last look-see.
