Guest
I took this test a while ago and got a 159, but by EyeOfTheDead's observation makes it seem like the test is basically rubbish. Not like online IQ tests are anything near accurate, anyway, but this one is a flat-out cheat.
Guest
well, I have taken quite a few differnt IQ tests and score differently each time. This time I scored 140 but I feel stupid for going through all those damn offers. I thought mensa was for those with 140+. Oh well, I wouldnt join it anyways. Guest
This is quite an interesting subject. I would never believe an on-line test like that (especially after all these posts I read about ads & gimmicks) First of all there are different IQ Tests for adults and children. With a difference in the number of the scores also. And then there are very different factors for different IQ Tests that (on top of that) change over the times, so that the scores are not always in the same range, which can explain why the same person can have very different scores after a long period of time. I found an interesting passage in Wikipedia which shows also another factor which could explain a different score: "IQ scores worldwide have been slowly rising at a rate of around three IQ points per decade.[49]. This phenomenon has been named the Flynn effect (aka the "Lynn-Flynn effect") named after Richard Lynn and James R. Flynn. Attempted explanations have included improved nutrition, a trend towards smaller families, better education, greater environmental complexity, and heterosis.[50] Tests are therefore renormalized occasionally to obtain mean scores of 100, for example WISC-R (1974), WISC-III (1991) and WISC-IV (2003). Hence it is difficult to compare IQ scores measured years apart, unless this is compensated for. Also complicating things is the difference between countries, since most tests are adjusted to the country of the test subject. This usually causes differences when some countries have better (more effective) education systems than others. For example, if someone scores 100 on an IQ test in the U.S., they would get 112 in South Africa, 91 in the U.K., 87 in Japan, and 86 in Switzerland, on the exact same test, with the same answers - the average person in those countries would get a different score." Anyway... my point is that the number given for any IQ Test is always relative and should not be compared with a previous score of another Test. Also another thing I always wondered about: why would somebody want to be a member of a club (Mensa) that has an archive about the "most intelligent" people of the world. I mean (and maybe I am paranoid, I know) personally I would be afraid to be a part of their files - you never know who would be interested in having acces to them. (my sick mind imagines extreme situations like a fictive german Mensa-Club in WWII, if you know what I mean)?
Mekal
The IQ of anyone is actually how much they CAN learn... not how much they know... i got a 168 on the online test but on an actuall one (one i took to get into GT) I got a 134 which is only 6 points beneath the requirements of MENSA... I think... and I took that when I was 11...
Guest
I took an IQ test at the age of 6 and got 155, I then took another and got 156, so it seems pretty consistant with age. I also have an issue with concentration and have dyslexia and dyspraxia. IQ is also still used to measure the severity of learning difficulties like these and are therefore not rendered completely useless, however an IQ will not necassarily make a difference to a job application... This online thing is only a bit of fun anyway... I enjoy these mini puzzles, hence why I joined this site, I dont think it was meant to be taken this seriously? It might actually be best if you dont count your IQ as your actual IQ. All tests of this nature are bias, but this online test is no where near a real IQ test. I used to test children/adults at a local hospital. Each activity is timed, and there is a strong mixture between visual, fact, and puzzle questions. These were mostly riddles. FUN but don't let it bring you down. (also this test technically allows you to school perfectly, another flaw the real thing wont allow). Guest
Since everyone is sharing 154 here, it wasn't an online test though, but one I took to help someone with research they were doing for their Masters degree.

Guest
PS. Here's another excellent IQ test website which is better than Free-IQTest.net I hope you meant that as a joke? yea way better...lol 9 questions to figure your I.Q....and it seems everyone gets the same score of 67...you actually get a 67 for getting them all wrong too hmmm...also no accurate I.Q. test, or testers will ever call you a FOOL
Guest
I wouldn't recommend the dumb site,(The first one that is) It's just a bunch of easy questions followed by a questionaire of all your personal information. Not to mention, there are only 20 questions. Now how are you going to know your IQ from 20 questions? Maybe part of the IQ test is based on how much you tell the site about you. Hmmm... would that raise or lower the percieved IQ hmmmm....
Guest
All these tests are fake. I'll just live with the fact I was told I have an IQ higher than 145. If you're in this website, then you're probably in the higher IQ group. Also, there are EQ tests, which even if you're smart, you may not be aware of morals and such
Guest
Given that Einstein's IQ is usually depicted as being 160, I highly doubt those IQ tests are truthful. Only 1/50 (or 2% of the population) have an IQ above 130. Mine, myself was 133, so just barely above the required IQ to enter MENSA. That was on their IQ test, of course, so I guess it differs from the one linked to. Edited July 12, 2011 by Artificial

Guest
I got 167, HA! I'm smarter (in theory) than you lot, though I'm rather young, so you ARE probably smarter than me...
MissKitten
Eh, that's a scam. I have no idea what my IQ is, but it's definitely not as high [or as low] as that thing says it is. And story, I'm a couple years older than you, and no doubt the majority of people here in the Den are smarter than me, so no offense, but they're probably smarter than you too. MissKitten
Eh, I just took it for the heck of it, and I got an IQ of 123. Course, I also said I was, like, 65 years old or something, which I'm not really [obviously, for those who know me], so that probably influenced my score. Still makes me feel happy that I'm smarter than the average person, though!
MissKitten
He, I just took it again with my real age and gender, and I got an IQ of 124, so I'm sill smarter than the average human.
