Question

I am thinking of a word. You may ask any question, but I will only answer questions that do not require me to give any similar or related words unless they are already within this topic, this post not included.

Example:

If the word were “Mane”

Question: “Is it found on any animals? If so what animals?”

Answer:“Yes. I cannot say” or [lion has not been said, horse has] “Horses” [lion and horse have been said] “Lions and horses.”

Er... They can be about 0.3-2 centimetres wide, and can be about <1-5(ish) millimetres long. Long is probably not the right word, but it will become clearer once the word has been guessed. Sorry about metric, all you Americans.

Eh... None of the above. Excuse me while I go Google that.

Um... I don't think I really can classify it as anything... *shrug*

Is it on a particular part of the body? (Arm, leg, head, etc.) if so, which one?

All four limbs, you say? Only a few things I can think of:

Skin, hair, keratin (finger and toe nails)?

Keratin is the closest on that list. Not quite there.

Is it visible on the outside part of the body?

Yes, usually. Some people don't have visible ones, and there's a debate about whether this reflects health, but it seems to be generally accepted that there's nothing wrong with not being able to see yours.

Nope. Keep in mind that it has something to do with keratin.

I think everyone I knew when I was in 5th grade had at least heard of it. So I guess it would be.
