plainglazed
At first I might seem crazy As a result of the cancellation Or perhaps I am just spoiled yet Would kill for an explanation Though what is the point, afterall We're finished, it's over, through I guess one could take either side Is all that was left to conclude But then adding insult to injury Resentment and outrage ensues Those vows, put off, now mocking Because of the scandalous news

0 fabpig
Another of your 2-parters? I came up with OFFEND At first I might seem crazy........... As a result of the cancellation........all can be OFF Or perhaps I am just spoiled yet...... Would kill for an explanation Though what is the point, afterall...... We're finished, it's over, through......... all can be an END I guess one could take either side......... Is all that was left to conclude........ But then adding insult to injury Resentment and outrage ensues Those vows, put off, now mocking Because of the scandalous news

0 plainglazed
Sorry all for the lack of response. That work thing. fabpig is spot on. At first I might seem crazy - off as in disturbed, addled, crazy As a result of the cancellation - another definition of off Or perhaps I am just spoiled yet - off as in turned, rancid, spoiled Would kill for an explanation - off as in murder or kill Though what is the point, afterall - end as in point, tip or as in goal, objective and afterall is the end We're finished, it's over, through - three more ends I guess one could take either side - end as in each extremity or side Is all that was left to conclude - two more ends But then adding insult to injury - adding off + end so offend and insult to injury/offend Resentment and outrage ensues - what happens when you offend Those vows, put off, now mocking - put off can mean offend and possibly as teasing assertions Because of the scandalous news - scandalize can be synonomous with offend Admit I may have overworked some of this one especially the second to last line. But did not want to make it too easy to work backwards from the answer to the two halves. Well done fabpig.
