0 Shakeepuddn
I see you used every letter in the alphabet, maybe. Looks like a basic cryptogram. I have class right now but I'll get to it afterward.
0 Shakeepuddn
Well, I made it to the end and I don’t use crypto solvers. They’re no fun. I don't feel it's necessary to use a spoiler because only someone who has likewise solved this will understand that I understand. I cracked your code simply by substituting each symbol with a corresponding letter and then solving like I normally do in the Sunday paper. Punctuation just fell into place. Cheers! 0 Shakeepuddn
I see you used smaller marks for vowels and combo-symbols like greater than or equal to for punctuation. Also similarities and relations between letter and symbol (a, v, r, pi being P, etc). I suspected that with my initial recognition of the "a" as stand alone article but wanted to do the cryptoquote method cause it's fun. Thanks for the puzzle. 0 Izzy
Okay, you've solved what the riddle said, but do you know why each symbol is each letter? If you did, then there's an easier way to solve it besides letter substitution. ..But this is where my hint comes in.
0 plainglazed
Hey Izzy - Well, unfortunately (for many reasons) I PC. At first tried to do a spreadsheet using ascii codes (I blame that other forum for that) but then did it the old fashioned Sunday afternoon way *** Shakee. Much fun, thanks. 0 Izzy
I have no idea what Shakee means or what the old fashioned way is, but if you figured it out, way to go.
0 Shakeepuddn
Hi Izzy. I merely assumed you used a one-to-one symbolic representation for letters, in which case, I found the spaces between the symbols and delineated words. One symbol stood alone which made it either an "a" or an "I" as no other letter in the alphabet can be used in such manner, so I replaced that symbol with an "a." Looking further at double letters and possible letter relationships, I was able to slowly fill-in the words, a process that gains momentum as more and more letters fall into place. It's just the old-fashioned Sunday paper cryptogram game. Thanks. I have no idea what Shakee means or what the old fashioned way is, but if you figured it out, way to go. 0 Shakeepuddn
To make it easier, I just first replaced your symbols with random letters from the alphabet.

0 plainglazed
so, if your not using a spoiler, wheres the answer????? If you successfully decode the measage, it asks you tell about something which you can respond to without "spoiling" for others. (hope you dont mind Izzy, happened to be here) Edited December 30, 2009 by plainglazed
0 Guest
Hey thanks PG.......I was wondering the answer also....I am not good at these riddles..
0 Izzy
..That I'm giving out not because the riddle is hard, but because I want someone to figure it out. Anyone with a Mac has the option of just playing around with their keyboard.
