0 Guest Posted October 23, 2009 Report Share Posted October 23, 2009 (champagne bottles don't need corkscrews...my brain feels like mashed potatoe on this one...not thinking clearly Not sure if you need to go further out or reel it back in, but that isn't it either. you don't ever use a bottle opener (corkscrew) on champagne, because you could cause an injury if the corkscrew were to shoot out with the cork due to expelling the gas (pressure). You remove the cage and gently twist & pull the cork until the pressure allows it to 'pop' easily out. See, the Den is quite educational!
