  2. Night 2 Post My post is a little early tonight, but don't get used to it Flamebirde was in the Asylum bathroom washing his hands that night when he heard a curious flickering noise. He turned around, on edge after the deaths of two Asylum residents in the past 48 hours. The liquid on the restroom floor (which he had ignored, not wanting to picture certain explanations) was being rapidly set alight by a dancing flame. Lighter fluid, perhaps? It smelled like a cookout, and he didn't want to be the main dish. The fire rose higher and higher until it was nearly as tall as the bathroom door frame. Flamebirde hastily checked for any way to escape, but there was none. He steeled himself to be burnt alive. Despite his concern, there was no need for flamebirde to worry. The blaze was nothing more than an inconvenience. Still, it was disconcerting to have all exits blocked off. Elsewhere in the Asylum, Auramyna gave a muffled cry as he came to. There was a piece of cloth stuffed in his mouth, and he was crammed in an air conditioning vent, hopelessly trapped. Nobody heard him, and eventually he gave up. The Asylum Guard sat tensely in the main office, awaiting that scream of terror that might accompany the night's newest victim. None came, and as the sunlight peeked in the shaded windows, all the residents of Brainden City Asylum gave a heavy sigh of relief.   3. I can't release the vote information, sorry. The 3x vote can be used as a 3x vote or a normal 1x vote. Of course, the player can choose not to vote at all, which would be the equivalent of a 0x vote. A note to everybody: in the Day/Night posts I have dealt with pronouns by writing "he/she did the action" or "somebody had blocked him/her." Is there any player here who is actually female? If not, I will use solely masculine pronouns in future posts.
  4. Day 1 Post Please expect all future posts to be from half an hour to 45 minutes after the Day or Night ends. (Note: I mention specific roles in this post. Regardless of whether the player whose role is mentioned is dead or living, I will refer to that role as if they are alive.) The Patients gathered in the Psychiatrist's office for a Warden-appointed meeting. The Asylum Guard frowned, glaring at the crazed figures standing in straitjackets before him/her. "As you all might know, plasmid was murdered last night. The killer is in this very room. Now who is it?" The Guard demanded. The Patients stared at the floor. "I think we should be trying to work out these homicidal tendencies in a calm, constructive manner..." the Psychologist began. "Oh, shut up!" the Asylum Guard growled. "The only way to stop a killer is to give them a taste of their own medicine...literally." The Patients' eyes widened in fear as the Asylum Guard drew a syringe from a plastic case in his pocket. A single droplet of clear liquid dripped from the sharpened tip, spattering the white linoleum. "I have a few suspects, and I just got word from the Wardens giving permission to go ahead with the procedure. But which of you loonies did it?" The Guard narrowed his/her eyes at mtamburini. "I suppose you were in your cell minding your own business last night, hmm?" Mtamburini nodded, frightened. The Guard turned to FreeOwn. "Or it could have been you!" the Guard accused. FreeOwn was silent, trembling with fear. "But I don't think you did it," the Guard stated. "I think it was that scumbag Boquise!" Boquise chuckled nervously. "It wasn't me. I was, uh...talking to the pink squirrels on the roof! And their ghost chipmunk cousins!" "You don't fool me," the Guard spat. "You're a killer. And you're getting what's coming to you!" The Guard deftly stabbed the syringe into Boquise's shoulder and drew the plunger. Boquise twisted, contorting in fury for a moment before the life left his eyes. He slid to the floor, dead. "We didn't even know if he was a Killer!" the Psychologist protested. The Guard undid Boquise's straitjacket. Strapped to his shirt underneath was a half-empty vial of cyanide.   5. If it's a two-way tie, I flip a coin. If it's a three-way or more tie, I randomize the options and blindly choose one.
  6. Please be active! It makes the game more enjoyable for everyone. Auramyna, FreeOwn, Marksmanjay, anyone else I've forgotten, please be more involved in the thread.
  7. The Sane need to lynch both baddies and either release the Hypochondriac or have him/her be NKed. If the Psychologist targets a Killer with a release, the baddie is released and the Sane lose. The only way for a Patient to win is to be released, yes. If the Sane are killed, the Killers win.
  8. My OP had a contradiction in it: I posted the OOA as save>block>trap>kill>redirect, but also stated, "The NK cannot be affected by any action except save." This was a clarification that NK has precedence over block and trap as well. I apologize for the confusion. Traps trap the target for one cycle, in which they cannot act and cannot be lynched.
  9. NKs are not affected by anything except save. So, the real OOA is save>kill>block>trap>redirect. Both baddies discuss in BTSC whom to NK. One target is picked, and that person dies.

  11. READ THIS POST! Okay, everybody. I did the previous post wrong and I noticed too late to edit it. Here is the actual Night 1 post. Sorry for the lateness of this post; I'll not let it happen again. Night 1: The Warden and Deputy Warden of Brainden City Asylum paced up and down the echoey halls of the building, performing a late-night check on the Patients. Deputy Warden Nana was suddenly startled by a loud clanging sound. It was plasmid, rattling furiously at the bars of a cell. "I can't escape!" he cried in exasperation while stuffing a cookie from dessert into his mouth. "I mow vat Skizofennic dib vis to me!" Warden Kika glanced curiously at Nana. Before the Wardens could react further, plasmid began clutching his throat. He gasped, convulsing, and fell to the ground. Writhing erratically, he flailed, throwing one final gesture to his plastic supper tray before he lay still. Nana dashed to unlock the cell and felt plasmid's heart. It wasn't beating. Warden Kika carefully examined the tray. She scented something bitter. "Cyanide," she whispered. "It must have been in the almond cookies." Nana called to report a murder in the Asylum. Both of the Wardens were in for a long evening. The rest of the night passed relatively uneventfully. The only other oddity was that flamebirde found himself strangely unable to perform any action. Somebody had deliberately blocked him. After hours of burial arranging and paperwork, Warden Kika twisted the final key to lock up the Patients for the night. Okay, to sum up the confusing role switcheroos: Phil has confirmed late Slick was unable to backup Freeown confirmed in Phil's place bonanova relinquished his spot to another player If everybody is okay with this arrangement, Phil can keep his spot and freeown will take over for bonanova.   17. Deadline to confirm is August 15, 8:00pm Central Time. Does anybody know where Phil is?
  18. 1) Unless the Psychologist released the Hypochondriac on the day the last Killer was lynched, the Psychologist must use their release power on that final day to release one Patient, the Patient who they decide was the most skillful player. This way, at least one Patient will win. Otherwise, nobody wins except the Sane. 2) A Patient loses if they die, regardless of the end outcome. 3) The votes on that player are negated. 4) The Hypochondriac and Sane cannot both win. 5) If the Hypochondriac is lynched, the Sane automatically lose, because they would become aware of his/her role in the Day post. However, if the Hypochondriac is NKed, the Sane can still win if they lynch the Killers, because there would be no way for them to realize that the NKed player was the Hypochondriac anyway.
  19. BTSC in this game is just going to be PMing to the host who will pass it on to the receiving player. You can be the intermediary for the Sane, and I'll do the Killers, and we can share information, if that's okay with you. Release is when the Psychologist says, sometime during the day, "I want to release plasmid." (As an example). Plasmid will leave the game alive after casting his lynch vote. He cannot post anymore in the game, just like if he was dead, but if he is a Patient, he is a "winner," and receives an according congratulatory post. Sure. I just need the rest of the players to confirm first.
  20. The game ends when all Sane or all Killers die. The Psychologist's release power is a Day role, and redirection is a Night role, so the Psychologist can't be redirected to release him/herself. The Killers must kill the original Sane and the MPD. If a Killer is released, the Sane do lose. The Killers cannot kill themselves, though. The Indy will say, "I want to copy Flamebirde's role," for example. Dead players cannot have their abilities be used by others.

    You are now entering Brainden City Asylum. My only advice is...beware. Roles: The Killers (baddies): Wincon: kill the Sane Homicidal Psychotic: Night kill (must agree with other baddie on whom to kill) Homicidal Maniac: same as HP The Sane: Wincon: lynch baddies, release Hypochondriac Asylum Guard: 3x lynch vote Psychologist: release player from asylum/Night save The Patients ("goodies"): Wincon: individual release from asylum Pyromaniac: block Schizophrenic: trap Multiple Personality Disorder sufferer: 2x Night role act (cannot save or kill) Hallucinator: redirect Paranoiac: survive being killed (either by lynch or NK) one time Compulsive Liar: can put one lie in the host's post each Day/Night cycle (not N1) The Pretender (Indy): Wincon: stay alive in asylum until game ends Hypochondriac: role copy each Night (cannot save or kill) OOA: save>block>trap>kill>redirect -Compulsive Liar and Paranoiac not affected by OOA All players must confirm before the game starts. Roles will be given out shortly afterwards. If you have questions, write them in green so bright it hurts your eyes. Thank you!
  22. Forgot to answer this last time, but Sane and Killers have BTSC until one of the Sane dies, in which case the MPD-turned Sane will not have BTSC with the remaining Sane. Killers always have BTSC.

  24. I pretty much have all the details figured out, but I'd appreciate your experience if you want to co-host with me. NK cannot be affected by any actions except save. The psychologist can, if they wish, choose one player per Day, ("bonanova" for example) and PM with their wish to release them. 2x night role act means they can act as two Night roles, e.g. block and redirect, if they can identify the players. They use this action the same night, yes. There's still a backup spot if you want it!
