Analyze for poison.
-
I think we're on the right track.
-
I see... My mistake. Good one!
-
Do vampires even fly?
Edit: Typo.
-
You are wrong on the 5th step where you casually mention canceling the powers on both sides!
(-1/2)^2 = (+1/2)^2 does not yield -1/2 = +1/2
But, definitely a good one!
Can't you do it by taking the square root of both sides, which is a "legal" mathematical operation?"
-
@ WoD No, we will never stop thinking!

Using the reverse of Seaton, I find that the playfair cipher gives:
TO KC SF LI NO
So onward to Kansas City, San Fran, Long Island, New Orleans.
EDIT: I kind of figure that one answer will typically favour 55.
I'm a bit confused, and I think you guys are too smart for me.
Why 55?

Found something!
If you use the word "trivial" as they key, the message decodes to "VA then NJ MI." Maybe the guests should visit these states?

These are both place names. Connection...?

^^^ Definitely. My brevity is because I'm on an iPod.
-
^^^ Ok.

@ Cav I meant, how long after the second murder?
-
Maybe WoD is using "breaking up is hard to do" as a reference to chemical reactions, which involve the breaking up of molecules.
-
Good point. @ Cav How long after the crime is this?
-
^ I don't really think it's that surprising she knew her name. The murder would have been on the news, and it would have mentioned her name.

Ask her if there's anybody else we can question.

Turnabout is fairplay?
AT IF BS PG OT
(5 x 5, no Q)
Hardly an original cipher! This would be trivial for a group so skilled in cryptography.
Might this have something to do with the Playfair cipher? Probably not, but you never know...

Maybe we should try and move a little quicker, if that's possible (post faster). That said, I have a cold so I might not be on as much.
Wheeeee!
-
@ WoD why is it called "Meet the Pieces"?
-
Umm. Given our profession, should there really be a choice?
Probably not.
-
Wow, sea, and welcome to the Den! Hope you like it!
-
I don't think there's anything else. Guys?
-
@ Cav Will you give us a full description once we've solved this case?
-
^ The "friendly janitor". We should question them before we accuse him.

Yay, I'm now officially an "advanced member"!

Nice, MiKi! That's what comes of being one minute late — someone answers the riddle first. Second one is confusing, though. Any thoughts?
