  1. Sorry, NKed means Night Killed. So: killed at night by the baddies.
  2. Hey TheCube, Don't take anything we say personally. Klue and I are known for being extremely suspicious and many of my comments are poor attempts at humour XD I understand what you were asking and having those goodie/baddie BTSC threads at the top of the forum is very confusing. They are old threads and in usual games (like this one), there is only a baddie BTSC. (Some more complex games have multiple BTSCs but that's a different story.) Everyone looks suspicious at the beginning of the game and once we see the night post with all the actions, we'll finally have some basis for throwing blame around! Another lesson for new players: during the day, you can change your vote as many times as you like. So you don't have to be sure or have any basis for your suspicions to vote. Once someone has 2 or 3 votes on them, it puts pressure on them to speak. They can give a defense or give some info, maybe hint at their role or actions, and if we accept that, we move our vote to someone else. And so we move our votes around a bit to hear a few people speak. Then, down the track, as more info comes to light, we can look back at what people have said and see any holes in their story. So the more we get people talking, the more chance someone will trip up or say the wrong thing. So on Day 1, it is a common practice to vote in this way as we don't have enough information yet. Waiting until later to vote actually helps the baddies as it stands in the way of information gathering. That's a summary of the voting techniques and voting will start after the night post
  3. Hmm, well i did think that but then I accepted his defence. I really don't know but I'm hoping the night post will shed some light on the matter. If me or Klue get NKed, then lynch Cube tomorrow! (or will they kill one of us to frame him?). Aargh, my head's spinning. Too much WiFOM.
  4. I think Araver is trying to hint that any questions for the host, you can put in red writing so it calls the host's attention to it. Btw, TheCube was reacting to a few of us asking what he meant by a certain comment that we thought was him claiming to be a baddie. So he was kind of defending himself /clarifying his words to the group. edit: fixed typo
  5. Because there is an informed minority (baddies who know who the baddies and goodies are but they dont know the roles of the goodies) and the UNinformed majority (goodies) who only know who theirself is. The baddies have the advantage of BTSC and we have the advantage of having 7 goodies (versus 3 baddies.). So the BTSC is supposed to even out the disadvantage of the baddies having less players.
  6. After we find out who the baddies attacked/blocked etc and we start voting, it will get more interesting. Then the game starts for real. Night 1 is just the prologue/ waiting for the action. Edit: Welcome Li (EDM's nickname)! Nice to have you join us. So-o-oooo... Is it Go Goodies :):) or Go Baddies :):) for you this time? Come on, drop me a crumb *puppydog eyes*. . XD
  7. Well it could have been a slip of the tongue? I don't know, that's why I asked him to clarify it.
  8. Cube, you haven't been inactive, especially as D1 hasn't started yet. People don't need to check in more than once, if that, on N1 as the action hasn't truly begun yet. But what did you mean by this: in response to Anon26 asking if you were mafia. Are you saying you are Mafia?
  9. Anon26- there's really not much to say until we see the first night post. The others are actually being smart by staying quiet until pressured to speak by votes on them. So we will just wait.... *tap, tap, tap* <~~~ tapping foot impatiently. Does this night end early if the actions are in early or not?
  10. Don't worry anon26- just in another thread I said he should of heard of a movie cos it played in Pakistan. *takes foot out of mouth*. What an idiot! But back on topic- yes cube is suspicious too but then everyone is suspicious to me on N1/D1. Once I see the night post and once everyone is here, I will know better. Until then we are just flapping our gums. It is 1 a.m in Australia so I'll try to goto bed now.
  11. OOC- @Klue - for some reason I thought you were in Pakistan. I'm sorry, I now remember you said you were looking for an apartment in India. I must have got you mixed up with someone else. All i really meant was that it doesn't matter what country or timezone or even movie interest as we are not all in America. Anyway, sorry if I offended you as I don''t know what the politics are between India and Pakistan or if there are still rivalries.
  12. @ Klue - yes and even pressuring with votes on D1 may not even get a response but then we still don't know if they are inactive goodies or inactive baddies. All this speculation is sending me crazy; by the end of the weekend people will realise the game started, i think.
  13. Usually it is 24 hours but on the weekend it turns to 48 hours. It gives everyone time to realise the game is happening. It is probably jumping the gun to call people inactive as it hasn't even been going for a day. They probably don't realise it started yet!
  14. It's good to ask questions. I think what Anon26 means is when you said 'who wants to die tonight', it sounded like a challenge. Because now is when the baddies decide who to kill so it sounds like you are the baddie. The thing you realise when you start playing mafia is that so many innocent things you say can be misinterpreted or can give away more information about your role than what you mean to say. So you have to think carefully with everything you say. At least that was my experience, When i started playing i couldn't believe how easy it is to give away info without meaning to!
  15. There aren't enough newbies to fill in and also, people don't get replaced unless they ask for a replacement or are inactive for a whole day and night (or something like that). So this is why it is bad for us if the inactive people are goodies because we don't have enough people to help us vote out the baddies. So the baddies will kill every night and then control the lynch in the day. If the inactives are baddies, well that is very very good for us, but it poses no challenge. I would rather everyone plays and it is a fair competition otherwise there is no joy in winning
  16. @ Aaryan - Yes, the problem is that we can't interrogate the inactive ones so they fly under the radar. And their actions can go through as long as there is one baddie active... At the same time, one or two of them could be a powerful goodie who is laying low so we can't just lynch the inactives. Kind of a catch22. Don't take this the wrong way HiddenG but you are acting suspicious. I think you will get a lot of votes when it becomes the Day cycle. Maybe the spy should spy hiddenG tonight to see once and for all because I don't want to lynch him if he's a goodie with a power role (like happened last time on D1.). Then again, there is no way for the spy to tell us this info... Don't worry about me, my curiosity is getting the better of me. Come on Day, come quickly!

Also, I think this looks more complicated than what it really is. I usually find things become clear once the game begins. Once you have your role and some sort of investment in the outcome, it is easier to understand how the rules affect you and what strategies or loopholes there are. Just my PoV.
  18. I don't understand your question. Yes, Mafia is fun for me. No, it will not be fun if the baddies are active and the goodies are inactive because there will be no chance for us to win.
  19. @ HiddenG - it was just a joke, i wasn't seriously confused.
  20. So would I if either of you are baddies as a) KM and to a slightly lesser extent Anon26 are seemng like goodies And b) we really need active goodies. If the baddies are the active ones, this game isn't going to be fun (well for me, anyway. I don't know about you.) This happened to me in the last TMM, all the baddies were active and all the active goodies except me got killed off so I ended up alone fighting a losing battle.
  21. Can you really divide your judgements into before and after N1? Are you lulling the baddies into a false sense of security? Oops, did I just give iyour strategy away? OR are you placing yourself as the judge so we won't guess that you are a baddie? Hmmm..... Actually I think this is the first mafia I played w/ KM that he seems like a goodie. Get this: when I thought he was acting like a baddie, he was a goodie. Then i thought he was acting like a baddie and he WAS a baddie. Now he acts like a goodie, so what does THAT mean? *confused*
  22. @HiddenG - by saying such an outright statement as that, it will be 100% YOUR fault if you get lynched and turn out to be a goodie. So far the only people who are NOT acting bad are KM and Anon26. But that is the way with newbie games so I'm unsure what to think. Flamebirde, I really hope you are not on my team cos that is some mighty scummy behavior! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as you're new but make one more 'baddie' comment and I'll be straight onto you! Come on people, talk so I can catch the rest of you in lies and scummy talk. (Actually I don't want too many suspects as tbere are only 3 baddie roles. Some of you MUST be goodies.). *scratches head*

Re spy redirects: if you look at both sides having a spy and a couple of possible redirects, the baddies have an advantage as they can share their redirect and spy info to partially or fully deduce who redirected who and thus who the spy info is from. Whereas each goodie only knows their own action. Unless ofc, ALL redirects are listed in the post. It kind of makes the spy info useless and turns it into a game of redirect the opposition's spy.

Guess we'll wait and see who else signs up.
