    Given that the other letters in binary are in the same position as words that have a 0, I think that it can be proved that the word is XINXXX.

    I've struggled for something more explicit, complicated or precise but all I can come up with for these accepted words (although, please, rainbow, underneath, achieve) is:

    Words must contain a pair of different, traditional, vowels (a,e,i,o,u) AND at least 6 characters long AND an A anywhere in the word (I can't explain why 'appear' is rejected)

    You're over thinking it. Other than the vowel pair part, my rule does not have anything to do with numbers. No math or foreign languages this time. :) You might try reading some of Perry's posts.
