  1. the remaining two are solved the same as the others. no extra trick to the last one this time. thinking on how i might have come up with the last clue should suggest which word to start with but would recommend starting with the second word in the other one.
  2. ah rats, Thalia took my first guess. how 'bout Molly Mae?
  3. Yes! That's the one, itachi-san. Nope, you've already used that one, Wilson. only two left - Spare Tires & Substractors
  4. yeah, Wilson, nah. thanks for the Update dD. hope that work and study thing eases up. she's back, too oooo. nice solve t_l. thought this one would be tough as neither of the two clue words give early suggestions to the answer, imo. even had an alternate at the ready. answering your question first i-s - yes. your first answer doesn't quite work as the second word goes from plural to singular and possessive. your second answer is closer yet... teehee yes, yippee
  5. hey hey dD - good to hear from you, old timer. gotta give you credit, too. that's the one.

and back by Popular demand, ladies and gentlemen: Wilson...
  7. ps thanks for sending over the hurricane it's knocking lumps off my roof. Don't know how you guys can cope with the big ones. sorry for the scare (kinda) and the weather (truthfully). the last one is real close but all the others are spot on. right on Framm - hey hey TC - not what I had in mind. cant quite make a strong enough connection between the first words but could be persuaded. well that's pretty much confirmation that this one works but still think there is a slightly better one. dont know what more to say without giving it away. oops. yes indeed Cat. well done.
  8. Back Aches Power Couples Old Legends Following Form Rest Stop Spare Tires Credit Watch Talk Smack Thunderhead Substractors For each word of each line above, find synonyms that are anagrams. For example: Cut Open --> Reduction/Introduce Scared ya? think these are hard enough as it is so will say that all the answers are five letter words.
  9. hey that's not fair. Mo Ma has the clear advantage after getting his a$$ kicked mafioso style. but seriously; one size smaller than your mouth?
  10. not much to add but wanted to echo Mo Ma's kudos and thanks to WOD and also welcome him back. new years and birth days back to back? epic as well I hope. thinking maybe the chemical abbreviations (au,ga,ga,ag,cu,au,ga,au,ga) might be used in solving the string riddle but have not gotten anywhere with them. Electrum is the only thing i've found that maybe contains all four elements but dont see how that might relate to a toy or model train thingie where some kind of key could be. cant help but to keep at it. most intriguing.

ahah - a new entrant so will let this go on a little longer.
  12. Awrite Wilson - and very happy and healthy New Year wishes to you as well. That is indeed the answer I had in mind. and @ plasmid - cant quite make a strong enough synonomous connection between the parts of your answer. always know when a clue isn't so great when it's still guessed at after the answer. sorry 'bout that but thanks to all for staying with it. be back soon.

    One Up Me

cool, okay - ...this year I resolve...
  14. ooh, close. do see the connection between the two words in your answer - as in to separate different (sized) items of a group. probably a worthy alternative but not my intended. does give each line an answer but will leave this one open a tad longer before marking as solved.
  15. right on, WOD. guess i should say the "710 104" is really an alternate clue as much as a hint.
  16. well then i guess i will have to say still not it. thanks for the bump tho. are you asking about the hint or the original clue? re the hint - the first part (710) is less familiar but someone already got that part of the hint; and the second part (104) i would think is common - its all in how you say it for both parts. as for the answer itself - i do think it is a fairly common phrase but i guess maybe not as much as most of the other answers.
  17. hello itachi-san - very good to see you here. have reviewed many a fine i-s riddle but do not believe have had the pleasure to guess "live".
