    Sorry, missed this one before. You're just too quick. That's chicory's fifth. Starting to think you're getting the hang of these!

  2. Hold me ever tighter

    This moment's oh so fleeting

    For since the earliest memory

    Seems I constantly have been beaten

    Down from mountains high

    Passed from river and stream

    And to the ocean's shores

    My journey's been, a dream

    Weaving is my man's design

    Bringing happiness a glory

    But only the smallest piece of me

    Is truth within this story.

  3. 8) look=c man=he twin vipers =ss move over=space mirrored ? in= n previous subcutaneous drip =iv (before the n)

    chess ? ivn so this is probably chess vixen , the e could be in the sound of the n mirrored must refer somehow to formation of the x

    vipers mirrored mirrored v could be an x.

    well you know you got it half right and give you another 5% for the space. Probably worth more since that's what screwed me up. Ah, what to say. You're right there, you have most of the remainder. Remember some words go to the letters in the answer and others go to directing what to do with them.

  4. I have found an error. So much for precision, eh.

    Line 8. should read: Look, man, twin Vipers TOTALLY mirrored in previous subcutaneous drip. with "totally" replacing "move over".

    Nevermind that's what I get for not understanding my own puzzle. Please leave line 8 as before.

  5. I have found an error. So much for precision, eh.

    Line 8. should read: Look, man, twin Vipers TOTALLY mirrored in previous subcutaneous drip. with "totally" replacing "move over".

  6. Close enough. I had "on" simply meaning on top and being your typical Ameican liken from bottom up to from left to right as culturally standard. Two down. Good work. Better go check now and see how many more you have done.....

    Chicory

    Ha, Ha

    Chicory is exactly right. Slow weekend so am guessing you will have quite a headstart if you care to/are able. Back to some yardwork for me. Have fun. Well done chicory.

  8. If they work in sets of three with the first prisoner stating if there are 0, 1, >1, or 15 balls in the next 15 cups. If they says "0" or "15", those 15 jars are defined and the next prisoner comes in and answers similarly. Otherwise the next pair of prisoners indicate the gap before the next ball. Am working on proving this always works but think some kind of combination of indicating both the number of balls and gaps in between balls can yield a solution.

  9. I haven't proved this logically, but I think that this strategy will guarantee safety, if the prisoners know beforehand the configuration of the cups and can therefore assign a serial number to each one......

    :o

    If we use pairs of prisoners to give numerical values to the gaps between balls, it can be done easily, I think. For example,

    BB = no gap

    BT = 1 gap

    BF = 2 gaps

    BR = 3 gaps

    and so on until..

    RF = 14 gaps

    RR = 15 or more gaps.

    For all except the last message, the prisoner counts the gaps and places a ball under the next cup. For the last message, he counts the gap of 15, but doesn't place a ball.

    The 39th prisoner's message won't be needed. 19 message pairs should be more than adequate to cover the 75 gaps.

    :huh: :huh: :huh:

    Started off this post in support of your answer
    what if the least efficient scenario existed where the first 23 jars had balls and so did the last 2 jars.The first 19 pairs would have placed balls under the first 19 jars and the last guy would have to define where six balls were among the remaining 81 jars.
  10. I'll give this one a shot
    Behold - look, see/C

    You - U

    And - +/T

    Me - I

    on the cross - T

    All together: CUT IT

    Perfect reasoning and a good example of how these work but your answer is not a part of this grouping. All ten of these are part of a list the theme of which will become immediately apparant once the first one is solved.

    The title may give you a clue as to what kind of list. This one is the perfect one to start on. Thanks for launching this game. I know you can get this one. And then the others will be much easier.

  11. Oops, already see the error of my method. Still thinking.
    Perfect memory was not stated nor what is the least number of prisoners that can define all 100 jars in room B so to keep it simple: Yes, two prisoners can describe 16 scenerios or the definition of what is under 8 jars using four words (actually 25 scenarios if silence is an option). Am thinking I'm probably missing something yet in the outline of the puzzle tho.

  13. I've got a hole straight through my head

    But haven't been slaughtered, so don't be misled

    For I'll be nimble, I'll be quick

    Cross over the ridges to hang with my click

    Don't tell me it would be uncool

    Perhaps you've forgotten to follow the rule

    Or squeezed the trigger, you control

    Whether you're hunted by cruising patrols

    So cross your heart don't hope to die

    When carnage ensues you'd better not fly

    Just hold your ground, I'll cut no slack

    You shouldn't deplore me for holding you back

    And once you've lost the will to roam

    With reeling abandon I'll slither back home

    Well it has been a while.

  14. Repeatedly I’m getting these rides to the parlor.

    I have just died. Surely I can’t die again.

    I’ve been practicing my death with the gravest valor.

    Please, do allow me to explain.

    You would think I will soon be on display.

    Over and over, the parlor doth call.

    And strange is the vessel, which bears me away.

    What am I doing here, casket and all?

    recharging cell phone?
