Hmm.. Just had a random, slightly off-topic thought. How do we know there isn't another sort of invisible force out there? Like magnetism or gravity? It doesn't mean something supernatural is causing these sorts of things, it could be something purely logical that scientists haven't discovered yet?

What soul? You mean the one, like ghosts, no-one's ever proven we have? The only advice I can give you is to live life imagining it's the only chance you get. Be moral, make friends, have a blast. Don't waste your life doing things you'd rather not do because it'll please others or lead you to a good afterlife. The way I see it, I'd rather have an amazing life, break some rules, and die being so happy I know my life was fulfilling, than have a crappy life, think there is heaven, but in fact, just be dead. Live in the present.

Dude, it's the other way around. The only logical conclusion is to assume ghosts aren't there, especially if there's no real proof to suggest that they are there in the first place. It's kind of hard to prove something isn't there, especially if that thing is something we're not supposed to be able to hear/see/taste/smell/feel. For example, I have a banana in my hand. Prove that it is there. You might answer by saying, "I see it with my eyes. I can touch it. Smell/taste/hear/yeah..". But if I take the banana away, and ask you the same question, you'll answer with "But there isn't a banana in your hand!" It's the same thing with ghosts. They are not there, we cannot prove that they are there*, therefor they do not exists. *This doesn't necessarily prove something doesn't exist. However, as science advances, it undoubtedly will some day.

I respect your belief, but in answer to your question (albeit most likely rhetorical ) : Why should we make something out of nothing? What's the point of assuming that something is there when there's absolutely no proof to back it up? ------ To me, God, ghosts, and all that, aren't very different from Santa Claus.
  5. Happy Birthday!

That could be true, but I just don't think that's what the OP meant. But yeah, with your wording, you're correct, with mine, everyone else is. Or at least we think we are, as there's been no response from the author.

Eugh, fractions. Your way doesn't make sense to me. I mean, it's practically the same thing... but...

Ahaha. I hate that show. My cousin is addicted to it. I voted no. I spent the good part of the day having a conversation with my mom, friend, and her dad about God, extraterrestrial life, and ghosts (hehe, basically: You're wrong! "Prove it!" Read this book! "No!" for hours. And me telling my friend how absurd all her arguments were) This topic being at the top of the View New Posts list when I logged on was a shocker!

Grah, as I was typing out some proof, I realized my mistake. <_< In my scale of 1 mile = 24 cm, .5cm = 0.02083333... of a mile, not 0.02, which is what I used. So the robots would travel .5 cm in 1 minutes 15 seconds.. If anything, I have the ultimate proof that it takes an hour?

Yeah, stupid iPhoto. I've fixed it now.

*edit* Original pics were crap. I had to re-take them.
  13. Izzy

Yeah, I figured as much. If I'm going to win this, I'm guessing the lamest letters there are (hence H), and hoping the person who goes before I do fills in a lot of blanks. You have quite a disadvantage in going first.
  14. Izzy

Ahahaha. The English have lost before, but with our government being the sh*ite it is and our troops in Iraq... Welcome your majesty.
  15. Izzy

Yes, so hurry up so I can have my go.
  16. Izzy

Totally. I'm going to win this.
  17. Izzy

That's why I try to solve it before scrolling down to the next post. Only after I have an answer do I read the spoilers. Unless I have no clue what to do.

I'll play! The prize is mine.

Teach him/her multiplication! Probably not the most exciting thing for every child, but I was so proud of myself when I learnt it. You probably have to trick him/her into wanting to learn it. When I was 3, I was with some friends in the sand at a park, and this "big kid" came by and asked us what 1*1 was. We all said two. She said we were wrong and made fun of us.. So, I asked my mom what she meant, and the first maths problem I remember solving on my own was 8*8. (That was a lot of counting on my fingers!) But yeah, play board games (heh, I have like 50 in my closest that take up sooo much space, but my mom won't let me get rid of them), READ, play make-believe, go for walks and stuff, do maths, teach him/her something interesting.
  20. Those adverts were so annoying! *several edits later* Gah, why won't the image work? I scored 151 btw.

I played this in school about two years ago. Beat it at some point. Going to go for another. At 17 atm...

    That made me giggle. Nice.
