    You've got it. The winning totals actually are 20-16, 24-10 [and two ties, with the 6's] and 20-16.

  3. That is correct. Now, find the volume.
  4. Spot on. Great answer. The OP asks: when [under what conditions] can 0/0=1? And you've given the best answer. The other guesses, including decibels and any situation where 0/0 has no context, are red herrings. Note also that 0/0 unambiguously can be ... 0 limit (x->0) of x2/x infinity limit (x->0) of x/x2 any finite number k limit (x->0) of kx/x.

    Nikyma has [5] BIRD Itachi-san has Honorable Mention for [6] WILD - fits the clues beautifully but as he notes, make BILL a person. Final update before completion. Yes, this is possible. If you like playing with semantic (and it just so happens that I do). Obviously, if the statement is true and the statement is in the line (which it is) then the statement would be false - leading to a paradox. However, if the statement is false then it would be okay. So, to avoid a paradox, we need the statement to be false, which means that something in the line has to be true. Fortunately, slayer gave us an out. The period. It is typed, but is not an integral part of the statement "Every thing that is typed in this line is false". See, I just wrote it without the period and it still held the same meaning. Therefore, the period is true. This makes the statement a lie. Paradox averted. Universe saved. I'm a hero. Clever. You're correct in that the assertion's opposite is "something in this line is true", rather than "everything in this line is true" which would maintain the paradox. And welcome back to the boards, cpotting - LTNS!
  7. Yes ... great job. You're exactly right ...

    Nikyma has [2] CAP -- Post #34 has been updated, q.v. [5] is still open but is probably just a matter of time. [6] is still open and is a challenge. I promise, as requested no clues. The connection is there, but you have to search for it. Hint: the number of dashes is the letter count of the word. Both open words have four letters. bethizi deserves honorable mention for amendment, except for the word count - very nice, otherwise

    Not quite ... Alphabet has 8 letters - if you count repeats. But "The Alphabet" - has only 7 letters: A, B, E, H, L, P and T
  18. bonanova

    Largeneal has [3] - and is close on [2] Eagle is close on [5].
  19. After reading largeneals's [2] idea, I bow to his creativity. His would be better.

    Back by popular demand; installment 3 of Three Words. The theme this time is "BILL" and in none of the groups does this refer to a person. Have fun! [1] bill _ _ circular [2] bill _ _ _ top [3] bill _ _ _ rule [4] bill _ _ _ _ act [5] bill _ _ _ _ mouth - two answers - bonus for both. [6] bill _ _ _ _ rider [7] bill _ _ _ _ _ _ attack [8] bill _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ledger Note: In the last group, there was difficulty with set _ _ _ romance. You needed to put the first two words together [sunset] before it related to the third word. To get to some of these third words, you may have to some similar manipulations.
  21. bonanova

    Sorry ... I had to put you out of your misery... No clue as to why that one was difficult. Maybe because Sun <-> Romance is weak. But I thought once someone thinks of Sunset, they might think romantic thoughts. Better might have been set _ _ _ romantic Final Tally: [1] set S E T romance/romantic -- by Nikyma [2] set J E T celebs -- by LIS [3] set B O N E heal by LIS [4] set S T A G E play -- by LIS/Nikyma [5] set G R O U P tribe -- by LIS [6] set P L A C E decimal -- by Nikyma [7] set C O N C R E T E hard -- by LIS [8] set C O L L E C T I ON potpourri -- by Nikyma
