As for the kid playing with army men, this doesn't do it for me, though it is a terrific guess. It doesn't really fit the 4th line. They are the ones who have to say "I do." If the priest won't perform the ceremony then I guess he won't get paid and they'll find another priest. If the father of the bride or someone like that says no, then they can always have a rebellious secret wedding without him. It's a better guess than I gave it credit for though.
