Guest Posted January 18, 2011 Report Share Posted January 18, 2011 I lie here in this smelly cave, My feet trapped far below; I can twist and strain and stretch myself But the flesh won’t let me go. From the depths I start to speak So all the world can hear, when – Suddenly Pain rips through me and Blood drips from me and Water washes over me and I fight to push it all back. For a moment there was light then air – Then … Nothing, only black. I gingerly lean on the tombstones again Rubbing them ever so gently: At times they offer the surest protection, But oft-times they seem out to get me! Question
Guest
I lie here in this smelly cave,
My feet trapped far below;
I can twist and strain and stretch myself
But the flesh won’t let me go.
From the depths I start to speak
So all the world can hear, when
– Suddenly
Pain rips through me and
Blood drips from me and
Water washes over me and
I fight to push it all back.
For a moment there was light then air
– Then … Nothing, only black.
I gingerly lean on the tombstones again
Rubbing them ever so gently:
At times they offer the surest protection,
But oft-times they seem out to get me!
