0 t8t8t8
Maybe there was a glass top, and the greenhouse effect caused him to die of heat stroke?
0 Thalia
I don't think this is absolutely necessary but. . .is light needed to survive?

0 Aaryan
You guys are not on the right track. Imagine standing in a room. There are four walls. He died of a natural cause BEFORE he died of lack of oxygen. You guys will be dissapointed with the answer. It's not a trick question. It's a natural cause that would kill anyone in a small room with no exits or airholes before lack of oxygen. The only air in the room is that that is in the room at the beginning. 0 benjer3
Carbon dioxide poisoning! If it was a hot day, the air in the box would heat up as to kill him via heat stroke.
0 Guest
...drowned. But wouldn't your solution also be... lack of oxygen (asphyxia)?
0 Guest
the man had a kidney disease. If he hadn't been in the room, he could have gone to the hospital for his dialysis treatment. Instead, he died. (could be any number of similar answers).

0 Guest
No, he was alive when he was put in the room. It was a semi-natural cause. As I said, had he not been in the room, he would not have died in that way. If he was in a completely solid room with a single hole to the outer world, he would not have died in this way. so is it a room or is it solid as a brick
0 Guest
if it was solid he was probably crushed if it was a dark room he probably fell or hit his head and died from a head trauma or possibly choked on his own tongue

0 benjer3
Awesome! Though it's basically the same thing as suffocating. The things that clued me in are that it would happen to anybody under those circumstances and that it's not the lack of oxygen.
0 Aaryan
Yes. Technically, it fulfilled all the riddle's requirements. Not a great one, but it had most of you stumped.

0 Guest
I read up to entry 21 and since no one answered correctly thus far, though I know that there already is a correct answer, I'll add my thoughts contrary to the correct answer. was poisoned... by his own breath. Breathe in = oxygen, breathe out = carbon dioxide, which is poisonous if too much is inhaled and the amount of CO2 out-weighs the amount of O2. It is also painless and undetectable until it's too late. Thank you and goodnight, people. Edited February 1, 2011 by Chrono Shadow
