As the words get longer more opportunities for exclusion occur and thus guessing becomes a bit easier - just thinking aloud. Here's the approximate distribution of word numbers / length for online scrabble lists: 3 letter words = approx 950-1000 (apparently) 4 letter words = approx 3900-4000 5 letter words = approx 8600-8800 6 letter words = approx 15200-15500 7 letter words = approx 23100-23500 8 letter words = approx 28400-28700 9 letter words = approx 24800-25000 10 letter words = approx 20300-20500 11 letter words = approx 15500-15700 12 letter words = approx 11300-11500 13 letter words = approx 7800-7900 14 letter words = approx 5100-5200 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
