Money; coins are often thrown in a fountain, which is supposed to bring good luck; the rich usually have fountains on the grounds of their home

Frogs

Not sure about the higher class but in Feng Shui they represent money and wealth.

In romance, you have to kiss a lot of frogs to meet your prince charming.

"A walk in the park" -- "Easy as pie" -- "A piece of cake"

Marie-Antoinette(translated from French)"Let them eat cake"

I'm not sure if we can consider Marie-Antoninette as royalty but cake was only for the rich and not the poor which is why the above quote is so controversial

And wedding cake for something romantic.

Therefore:

a piece of cake

Champagne?

I think originally the beverage was created for royalty or the aristocracy.

Then it became more widely accessible but so pricey only the rich could afford it

Today one usually orders or brings a bottle to someone when they're going to present them with an engagement ring and/or propose to them.

i could be wrong but it makes sense...

Cupid/Eros

God (higher lass)

Cupidity means greed of wealth or possessions

Symbol of love in modern society.

I think you do, too. To tell the truth, I was considering that answer; I shd have done a little research; but I think you did & you might have solved it. WTG!
