  1. All types of bulb beetles (Red,Green and Blue) inside a jar are always glowing with the same color according to the most number of beetle type within the jar. In case of equal in numbers they all glow with the same color mixture. By transfering some beetles from one jar to the other 3 times.. How many of each type were captured? (See trial sequence below)
  2. Yes,that's the least..and it helps to know. But i can only guess, the solution for all possible shuffled position is 8 maybe 9. Nice job !
  3. A man sold part of his 16 x 12 m rectangular land property having 9 ft. high brick walls on all sides. If he decide to use the existing brick materials to rebuild his walls..(see lot plan) What should be the new height of his brick walls?
  4. How to make 2 cubes stick together on 24 positions with aligned edges?
  5. Four modified 1x1x1 Rubik's cubes are sticking with each other by magnetics (as shown) forming the 2x2x1 puzzle block. Starting with all the same colors on the same face to ensure solvability, shuffle by turning any two side by side cubes on the axis that connects their centers. Few times will do. To solve or play just apply the same rule of turn to rearrange for same colored sides. Maybe a different configuration. Note that the 2 cubes cannot rotate on edges or face axis..just on the axis where both centers are.(90 or 180 deg) If by then only one of the cube is disoriented, how many turns more shall it take to complete the puzzle?
  6. Hello Charlie ..i got it wrong! I guess you are right graphically.
  7. Construct the most stable 7 layered tower on a flat surface out of a double-six Domino set. The layers are made of 4 tiles (2x1x1/4") resting on their longer edges to form the squared walls. Since the pips makes the dominoes lighter..the base of the tower should have even pressure. How then tiles should be arranged or stack up?
  8. Alright, you got it.. I don't know if the spider can do that . Maybe with its farthest pair of eyes. All webs made a 120 degrees angle with the adjacent web like the towns & roads problem. You can always minimize piping or wiring lengths using the same principle. The only task is how to find the points to make 120deg network to connect N dots. Again, good solving to all .. thanks.
  9. Welcome here Philip.. Note that the spider can crawl to any cork without spending its web. It would cut and stick web ends anywhere . Like the previous problem 7m is the length to beat. What is the minimum length that should connect 3 points?
  10. The construction contract is yours..nice job.
  11. @tojo928 Your 7.65 mile road design is a good proposal.. but the budget is good only for road system shorter than 7.50 miles. Can you revise it? Thanks you for submitting your work.
  12. A spider is going to weave its new territory attaching to all the tips of wine corks at the cellar that are forming the 8 corners of a perfect cube (1 cu.m). The spider must conserve its web fluid (with least linear meter used) and move from cork to cork. Can you describe the shape of its web? How long it is?
  13. Hi there bonanova. . You may consider curved and angled paths. but assume paving a narrower road on a flat open area. about 10 ft wide.
