    Can't Read?

I read it, and then, BAM, 2 seconds later, I chuckle. It seems to mimic the mechanism of a joke, where there text takes you through a typical scenario, and then the catch-phrase emerges in an 'Aha, I got you' fashion, and thus causing us to burst into laughter, concealing our humble sense of anticipation. Of course your mental state and intelligence does play a role, too.

Well, there are too many movies out there that seem to be too predictable, yet so many people line up excitingly to see new clichéd romantic comedies. I’ll admit I’ve fallen into this marketing trap, but only to socialize. Here are some of my favourites: The Informant! The Dark Knight Lions for Lambs Fight Club October Sky V for Vendetta What are some of yours?

Four men were playing a card game in which each card has a numerical ranking and is one of four suits called clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. The play of four cards, one from each player's holding, is called a trick, and the suit of the card played first in a trick is referred to as the suit led. In this card game (a) a player must follow suit (play a card in the suit led), if possible, at each trick (otherwise, a player may play any card); (b) a player who wins a trick must lead at the next trick. Nine tricks had already been played and there were 4 more tricks left to be played. 1. The distribution of suits in the four hands was as follows: Hand I: club, diamond, spade, spade Hand II: club, diamond, heart, heart Hand III: club, heart, diamond, diamond Hand IV: club, heart, spade, spade 2. Art led a diamond at one trick. 3. Bob led a heart at one trick. 4. Cab led a club at one trick. 5. Dan led a spade at one trick. 6. A trump won each trick (A trump is any card in a certain suit that may be (a) played when a player has no cards in the suit led -- in this event a card in the trump suit beats all cards in the other 3 suits; or (b) led, as any other suit may be led.) 7. Art and Cab, who were partners, won two tricks; Bob and Dan, who were partners, won two tricks. Which one of the 4 men won the 10th trick?
  14. Four women were playing a card game in which each card has a neumerical ranking and is one of four suits called clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. The play of four cards, one from each player's holding, is called a trick, and the suit of the card played first in a trick is referred to as the suit led. In this card game (a) a player must follow suit (play a card in the suit led), if possible, at each trick (otherwise, a player may play any card); (b) a player who wns a trick must lead at the next trick. Ten tricks had already been played and there were three more tricks left to be played. 1. At trick number 11: Alma led a club; Bess played a diamond, Cleo pkayed a heart, and Dina played a spade --- not necessarily in that order. 2. The hostess won the twelfth trick and led a heart at trick number 13. 3. A different person led at each of the last 3 tricks. 4. All four suits were played at each of the last three tricks, a trump winning each trick. (A trump is any card in a certain suit that may be (a) played when a player has no cards in the suit led -- in this event a card in the trump suit beats all cards in the other 3 suits; or (b) led, as any other suit may be led.) 5. A different person won each of the last 3 tricks. 6. The partner of the hostess held 3 red cards (either diamonds or hearts --- clubs and spades are black cards). Which one of the 4 women was the hostess?
  15. Interesting response, yet surely the killing of masses via dictatorship might have eased up the issue of overpopulation today. I mean, heck, we're dont have the necessary cognitive tools to solving such complex issues like that! Thank you for your post.

Hey great job guys, but dheeraj54, could you explain that technique of yours?
  17. Is it another way of talking about IQ? Socially intelligent? Most people who decide to improve this "power" adhere to puzzles, learning new things, and self-improvement. But to what extent are we going to do this? To the limit of our dopamine rushes? Till we realize that are intelligences are greater than others? In other words, why are you so dedicated to improving your brain?
