Mystery Operation IV We've started exploring nearby stars with ships travelling below the speed of light. One of the missions encouters a mysterios artifact orbiting an uninhabited planet prime for terraformation. An away team discovers that it is some sort of station, although it's purposes are still unknown. The station has a large number of rooms, each having an outside control panel with three displays: blue, red and purple. A quick discovery is that all displays seem to show a number in some alien numbering system. Two buttons are available on the panel. First button can increase the purple display counter (and this is how the alien numbering system was discovered). Only for certain combinations, pressing the second button (let's call it SEND) floods the room with a burst of some form of exotic radiation. Afterwards everything inside the room disappears. The teleportation hypothesis has been advanced by some scientists and trial and error has found a couple of combinations that send everything in the room to a similar structure on the planet below, which holds similar control panels. Gaining control of the mechanism would greatly improve the chances of terraformation as we do not possess a similar technology and all trips to the planet and back greatly diminish the ships fuel reserves. Unfortunately, pressing the SEND button rescrambles the blue and red counters, so instead of trial and error, a more scientific method must be established. No guide or manual is available, but it stands to reason that some sort of algorithm or simple operation is behind this. Just a couple of questions till the game starts. For his messages, Firestar chooses a role (cat) or a player? And the message is uni-directional? Copy an action that is sent by an alive player that night? Or one action that is possible at the beginning of the game? Because telling Tallstar what he can choose to copy leaks to him who is alive and who is not. He chooses every night? If he chooses a different person, he cannot be RID Killed, right? Are the ones trying to RID Kill told their RID was correct or does the RID Kill kill the person it is redirected to? Save from any action includes Kill, RID Kill, block? "Learn action" as in type of action + target? e.g. X spied Y. Only these 4 are clan leaders: Firestar, Tallstar, Tigerstar, Leopoldstar? 3 of them are harder to kill (2 hits/lynches). To count toward Bloodclan's WinCon, they need to make the last kill? (or one of the kills in case there are 2 hits in the same night). Question: redirect the kill = block the kill or redirect to Bone's choice? If the kill is redirected to Bone's choice, then does it count toward Bloodclan wincon? Even if Bone chooses to redirect from X to X?

Thank you all for playing It was very enjoyable for me as a host to see you plan and plot On another note, I am preparing another Star Trek based Mafia, this time with a different setting (4-Factions - 12 players instead of the classic Goodie/Baddie/Indy). So even if you did not enjoy the theme too much, you'll likely know most of the characters by then See you on MM, sometime in February for that.

Have to say this, since it was one action that decided this suspenseful night: Alternate universe no 1: Had SD chosen to trap BlaBlah, Slick would have been redirected by Darth Legion to himself and Goodies would have won. Alternate universe no 2: Had SD chosen to trap anyone else or not trap anyone, Slick would have been redirected by Darth Legion to himself and both Indies and Goodies would have won. There was a lot of popcorn in the Ghost thread about the outcome of this night

Night 4 - "Alpha Quadrant-style treachery" ------- Worf went out to find a target tonight. He was sure his target had to be stopped to prevent more killing. He found Slick and trapped him in a storage room. No more truth-serums this time. He thoroughly checked Slick with a medical tricorder and found out who he was. ------- Disguised as a Maquis operative with Vulcan heritage, Commander Sela was on the orbital station. She lay low enough so people did not really notice her. She was shadowing everybody hoping to find out if any of her two targets left were still alive. People kept dying aboard the station, so she had to hurry to claim her kills for the mission. Romulans did not give away promotions for half-accomplished missions, and she had a feeling the Romulan Tal Shiar probably managed to bug the station in advance. So, the kill should be her's alone. She planted a bug on Glycereine tonight and after a couple of hours she became convinced that he was one of her remaining targets. Indeed he was. A clever ambush on one of the secondary corridors and the Doctor lay in a pool of blood. Satisfied with her two kills so far, Sela packed up and left the station in an escape pod. 2 out of 3 was an acceptable accomplishment (the 3rd target had been killed earlier, before Sela could find it and it did not matter anyway) ------- Data was alone in his quarters, going over surveillance reports. He ran a few behavioral pattern detection algorithms and he found Sela, the Romulan spy and the remaining Dominion infiltrator. However that was too late, as the Romulan Spy had already finished her mission. Game is over! Romulan (Indy) Wins! Congratulations to BlaBlah (Comm.
