Wow, that was fast; I just posted! Very good answer but not what I'm looking for. I was thinking about making a VERY hard one since you and a few others are getting so adept at pegging the riddles I think would be tough (thus the double down remark), but not today. This shouldn't be too hard. lots of internal clues. Good luck.

You can find me in a bar No stranger to a bottle, You can find me near and far, Your enemies I throttle. I’m the guard you call to arms When stealthy foe is near, I protect from daily harm, Assuaging elder fear. I’m very fat but I don’t care, I’m even strong when broken, But if you eat me best beware, Some things best left unspoken.

Not yet, though somebody is on the right track.

No go. This one requires a very specific answer, sort of like Semper's attempts (god tries by the way) Ex: "Jacob's ladder" for a specific rope ladder on a boat, not just ladder. I would have to say "no" to the latter ladder, otherwise I would pretty much give it away and make it an issue of just narrowing it down.

    Nothing yet, good answers though.

A singular toll calls the hunter to sea, Whose venerable net to embrace Both young and old, skittish or bold; From the depths of the dark they would race. And around the round once was a pound To weigh down the workers’ weal, And to ever make sure the veil of his word, Opposed to those who would steal. A short life to live and to one father give The power to make others kneel And offer their love to all things above, Each pilot is handed this wheel.

Good Evening Wilson. You just cut my riddle (which I had intended to be more than difficult) into little shards. Congratulations. I won't even bother with an explication. A Wikipedia will do. How did you get it so quickly?

Her hardened heart as cold as ice Beloved by all she would entice Once chained upon a fleece of gold Thus held, her soul more blue than bold. This Belle of balls in stately garb Hath wedded royals from afar. Her curse no more a misery, She’s laid to rest for all to see. Good luck

    That's what I was thinking.
  12. LOL! You folks are dancing around this one. Better brush up on your Edith Hamilton!

I should've qualified the statement " safest place on Earth." High mountains are out (supplies and oxygen problems) Poles are out: not really suitable for living, too far removed from everything. Boat's interesting . . . what kind?

What's the safest/best place to be in the event of a all-out thermonuclear war? No trick. Match my call and call it solved.
  15. That's because you're clearly a big Hobbit fan
  16. rsn had the right instinct
  17. Guidance: secrets, royalty, love, sibling, etc. "person" or "thing" ?
