  1. Ecks, you can change majority of settings (including photo) via "My Controls"

Ecks, I would advise to search for keywords which are important for the riddle and are likely to be in several versions of the riddle. I assume that water, rope and hanged are such keywords. So I just entered water +rope +hanged in the forum search (not limited to any forum section) and there it was - this thread and the same riddle in an old thread. Thread locked.
  3. chidoric, as an advanced member you are probably familiar with the rules of this forum (link at the top - "Important: READ BEFORE POSTING") - you can find explanation on edit time limit there (and many other important things as well)
  4. rookie1ja

already part of this site - eye illusions (the last illusion at the bottom)

cjstone314, your rank is no more newbie so I would assume that you know the rules. Some of the riddles are already posted. If you want your threads to stay open then always perform search when you post riddles that you have not created.
  6. well spotted answer for old wording is 11:59 answer for new wording is 12:44
  7. You have a place to create philosophy related threads now - "Others". You have shown that you can find threads on philosophy. I have amended description of "Others" - included "(eg. you can discuss philosophy related questions)" - so it is clear that philosophy is one of subjects of the forum. Good idea. No more amendments necessary for the time being.
  8. No separate "Philosophy Forum" yet. "Others" is a place where you can find them. When exactly does a thread become philosophical? Have you found more than 30 threads on philosophy in "Others"?
  9. I do not advise to write your email address in posts unless you don't mind spam

Welcome to the Den, k thx bye everyone. I would like to direct your attention to rules of this forum (see "Important: READ BEFORE POSTING" at the top). Perform a search whenever you post a puzzle that you have not created (especially for oldies like this one). That way we ensure that you and everybody else always gets fresh puzzles and you don't have to read the same puzzle each week. Thread locked.

guys, purpose of this topic is to help yellowsubmarine understand something ... he should be explained the process and he could be hinted at the solution ... ideally, 1 person should explain the process and give hints in 1 post and if needed guide the OP further so this topic is not here to: 1. give exact answer 2. debate between other members I strongly advise to follow the rules
  12. rookie1ja

This one is already posted. In this very section - Paradoxes (topic named "Think about these"). On the very first page, with hundreds of responses. Only "grandmother" is used instead of "grandfather". I advise to perform a quick search next time. It is not that hard. Thread locked.
  13. andromeda, go to "My Controls - Board Settings" and tick "Auto correct DST" ... then refresh the board and you should see the correct time

This topic is on: 1. Mythical Creatures. 2. Is there a spiritual world? If you want to discuss anything else (especially religion in more depth) then start a new thread or this one will be locked.
  15. RMZ, you can use your current account

andromeda, we switched yesterday as well

SimpleNhard, majority of the riddles is already part of this site. I strongly advise to follow rules of this forum and search for puzzles you did not create

Welcome to the Den, jdbeautiful. For instance, if you search for "houses +different +colors" then you will see that this is one of my favorites. It is usually referred to as Einstein's Riddle although he did probably not create it. For similar ones see this page. Thread locked.

Welcome to the Den, drock. For instance, search for "111221" and you'll find this posted many times. Actually, it is posted almost 20 times thus sharing the 1st place as the most repeated puzzle together with Two Doors puzzle. Thread locked.

And there are at least 2 more threads with the same principle. Thread locked.

nice idea, however, it wouldn't probably get enough topics/posts I was thinking about chess subforum, however, it has a few drawbacks as well
  25. Thanks to Andromeda, I have just realized that this BD Forum celebrates the 2nd anniversary of the 1st post - exactly today. There have been many changes - some more visible than others. All of them were meant to improve this site. That's a loooong story. Anyway, does anybody remember this site/forum from 2007 or earlier? (that used to be another domain hlavolamy.szm.sk/brainteasers/ starting in 2003)
