  1. Thanks for the heads up re DD's response. Had missed it. 'Fraid you missed this one again, too. But, you did get the right definition of grappling (and engagement on your first guess of proposal).

Was it a good riddle? Yes indeed, a really good riddle. Especially liked the "one step away from" clue (was the shape of the "n" being similar to a step intentional?) and of course I liked the charade (combining) as you might expect.
  3. Hey Chess_Vixen. Thanks for organizing the responses so far. Am sorry to say your answer for 5. is not what I am looking for. No, it's meant as written/no typo this time. Probably would have been more likely that I was wrong so thanks for clarifying. Guess I can accept your middle guess for 2. Was going for a different tense but think both should work. Not it for 4. Good work...

Had to take a shot after this much time pondering. Sorry to hear you were not well. All better now, I hope?
  5. plainglazed

Yay, thanks. Cool riddle(s). Cool concept.
  6. Bonus: One has 5:55 the second 6:52 third or fourth a 9:10.
  7. Ooops should have been 4 instead of 5 below. Good answers both but neither are correct. You're definitely getting the gist what's going on in each, just need to fine tune the two (still need totally different) words I'm looking for. Ah yes, Quayle was the VP perp. who murderized the spelling of tomato (or was it potato?). Cheney the VP perp. who plugged his lawyer "friend" with the shotgun. Cheney would be more relevent here I guess, but not really headed toward the answer.
  8. And evenin' to you Wilson. Busted 1. & 6. Good work. Been a long day and cant seem to make the reference for your guess at 5. Not what I had in mind for that one, tho.
  9. 2. Nothing left to recycle is unspoiled. 2. Indian's goalie blocked one goal, but a goal got in near the end.
  10. Do the six words fit together to form a phrase? Afraid both guesses are incorrect. The six do not form a phrase per se but hopefully hint to the final answer.
  11. Let me know if i'm on the right track You're both on the right track for 1. and dD has 3. correct.
  12. An easy one here, just meant for good fun. Six words to find, then we'll talk when you're done. Conservatively speaking is their chosen plight. More common in Britain, but just as right. Heart sleeves showed signs of thinned nerves, too. And lingered until your welcome, was long overdue. Not anger, wrath, fury nor rage but another befit. A part of an island nation, horribly split. Hilarious yet not, what the comedian did them. Done in for sport when the season is in. Your brothers know of this pre-engagement event. In grappling you could say it's what shouldering is meant. Of a cowardly color you would typically me know. Not this kind of funny if I'm found on your toe. Now all these together may seem strange on their face. But combine them regardless, so my name you can place.
  13. Well ahoy thar matey, you are not lost and not only can you get this one, you did. Well done!
  14. 4. Finish with good left hook.
  15. EDIT: sorry, for some reason it posted twice.
  16. 2. Nothing left to recycle is unspoiled.
  17. 1. Attack lost land before the arrangement.
  18. Hey stephed, long time no riddlin' eh? Great answer but not what I have in mind. Hope you check back in and give it another shot.
  19. 5. Burn a lady which bewitches.
