    So there you have it. If you drive 30km/hr for the first leg of your trip, then you drive 90 km/hr for the second leg and the total distance you want to travel is 60km, then you will average 60 km/hr by the end of your trip.

    Not really!

    As the mod and the admin had already said in one of the previous posts SPEED = DISTANCE / TIME

    SPEED = (30km + 30km)/(60min. + 20min.)

    SPEED = 60km/1.33hr

    SPEED = 45km/hr

    That's the average speed! ;)

    Same goes for solutions for example.

    If you have two solutions with known concentrations (in %) and you mixed them up you won't get their average concentration by adding those two together and dividing them by two. You have to add the masses of the solutions together and you have to add the masses of the solutes together and then you set up a proportion in order to get the average concentration.

    Random thought: I think that all of the Mr. Bunnies should be removed.

    In signatures shouldn't be more than 3-4 lines besides I introduced Mr. Bunny in my sig and then it got stolen and now it's all over the place... :dry: *glares at RT*

    What does everyone else think as far as a starting date?

    Um... lemme think... TODAY :D

    I miss interacting in a mafia game with all of you guys and I would like it to start as soon as possible!

    it seems so far that 2 out of the 4 that are playing Mt. O are good to go. gc's on a different timezone then most of us, except for andro i think, so he may not respond quickly. Kat, what about you?

    Andro's on ALL the time, especially when she forgets to log out :dry: stupid brain, only acting as a hair fertilizer...

    You mean my edit! Sorry... :blush: I didn't think it was important to put it in a spoiler. I'm quite a spoiler freak myself, and I didn't realize... sorry. My time for edit has run out so I can't change it anymore. It works more like a hint so it's not a big giveaway... I think :ph34r:

    EDIT: OK here's the real solution I think:

    Beer = 3 brainars

    Sandwich = 6 brainars

    I have divided the previous equations with 3 (the left side I mean)!

    I never do math problems so I was a bit hasty to be the first one to solve this one :)

    Finally a math that I can grasp!!

    Beer = 1 brainar

    Sandwich = 2 brainars

    I totally feel like drinking a beer right now :lol:

    y - sandwich

    7x+4y=15

    5x+5y=15

    From the first equation I get that x=(15-14y)/7

    when I put that in the second equation I get that y=2

    and then I put 2 instead of y in the first equation and I get that x=1

    EDIT: I just realized that I have calculated it as if the third friend paid for everything... I knew it was too good to be true. Back to my notes :)

    2. When you start a new topic, include a descriptive and unique title. For instance, "What-Am-I - Holiday Theme" or "What-Am-I - Tribute to Descartes" and not "WAI".

    Some other suggestions (that I'm proud of :D)

    Tuesday paper headlines, "Awarded chemistry professor found dead in his lab!"

    Wednesday paper headlines, "Team building exercise painted in blood!"

    With the rest of my riddles I wasn't so descriptive... I wish I was... :(

    Let me get this straight... you wanna take ALL the riddles from the New Puzzles Forum and split them into two sub forums?

    That's A LOT of work!

    2. new members might be discouraged to post if they know not where and if their threads are moved

    I don't think that would be a problem cause new members are posting without reluctancy even after several of their riddles have been locked for being already posted.

    Misplacing threads in wrong forums happens all the time.

    I think dividing all of the riddles from New Puzzles is going to be a nightmare, but I like the idea of separate sub forums :)

    EDIT: Oh and two sub forums are quite enough (referring to Unreality's suggestion)

    Do you claim to have succeeded in proving a negative? This statement may have been less than a full expression of your views, but on the face of it, it seems hard to defend.

    Actually God had 2000 years to show up, but he never did?! That proves a lot!! ;)

    PM mass spamming = humans are registering to satisfy the reCAPTCHA requirements and then activating a "bot" to send hundreds of SPAM messages via the PM system within several minutes (that happened twice lately - pinupka and mignulikz)

    There is one more way which I used earlier - I decreased "Max. Number users allowed to mass PM" to 3.

    These are the best ways to decrease future PM mass spamming.

    I hear you, but mass spamming is sporadic, who knows when it's gonna happen again. Waiting for the messenger to kick in again is frustrating... I'm jumping on my seat yelling "Come one already!!!". This is a problem cause if I have received several messages, or PM-ing with several people at the same time I can't wait that long!

    If you don't believe me how frustrating it is ask Johny ;)

    Seriously I don't think that mass spamming is that much of a big deal. All you have to do is warn everyone not to click on the link that the spammers are sending. Every member will erase the spam message and everything's cool.

    This waiting is really annoying... :(

    Due to recent PM mass spamming, new patch was implemented to the forum and I have set up PM flood control to 5 minutes. So you can send the next PM after 5 minutes.

    However, I could decrease it to 3 minutes if you would accept the higher risk of PM spamming.

    Itachi-san, I have disabled this PM flood control for VIPs (not possible for regular ranks yet).

    That won't work for me. If I need to send a PM because I forgot something in the previous one I can't wait that long cause a member might be gone by that time.

    What PM mass spamming?? Elaborate please :huh: I had no problem with that!

    I'm pretty sure that this can be dealt with differently!

    This just popped up when I wanted to send a PM?! :huh: I couldn't PM anyone to ask for an obvious reason.

    The error returned was:

    You cannot send another PM until Apr 11 2009, 03:48 AM

    OK it's 3:50 and I can do it now, but I don't get it why I couldn't?

    Looks like fun, but I need help posting images

    OK I have assembled a little how to guide, hopefully it'll help ;)

    First of all make sure that your image is not too big (if you used paint it will be saved in BMP which is no good cause it's too big, takes up too much memory space, I don't know how to explain this part, but you get what I'm sayin') you have to resize it (using Irfan or XnView, or some other image viewing program) and save the image as JPG, or GIF.

    And then step by step this is what you should do:
